Do What I Tell You
I don't know who this Santé fella is, or why we have to salute him, but this grapeseed oil sure is good!
Welcome to Get Cooking. I'm your host, Isadora Beauforte. Today we're going to be making a delicious and healthy salad dressing made with your favorite Santé! Grapeseed Oil! Just remember, the art of salad dressing making is a precise one, so be sure to follow the recipe exactly.
Please gather the items on the ingredient list we shared with you at the beginning of the show, and then we'll get started!
OK, so the first thing you'll want to decide is which varietal of these cold-pressed finishing grapeseed oils you'd like to use; the Chardonnay, the Merlot or the Syrah. All three offer a smooth buttery feel, a warm, nutty taste, aromas of fresh crushed grapes and a beautiful golden-green color.
Now once you've decided, you'll want to place the bottle on the countertop, label facing toward you, and then salute it. That's right. Salute it. Just put your little hand up to your forehead and then give it a little wave. This may seem like an unnecessary step, but it is actually very important that you salute the Santé. Like a sign of respect.
Once you have done that, you'll want to juice your lemon into the bowl, add a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper to taste, and then a freshly pressed clove of garlic if you're feeling adventurous. Next, add four tablespoons of your Santé grapeseed oil to the bowl, salute it, then whisk.
Be sure to salute THEN whisk. Never the other way around. Like I said. RESPECT.
And then you're done! Toss a little dressing with your favorite greens. Perhaps some spinach or arugula. You could even top it with some sliced almonds or pepitas. But remember, before you take each bite, salute. No. I've never tried it without saluting. I gotta be honest. I'm a little afraid.
Anyway. Bon Appétit!
