Galante Vineyards Estate Red - 3 Pack
“Nevermind” Just Turned HOW Old?
The trouble with getting old is that time just doesn’t play fair! But at least we can enjoy a Galante Vineyards Estate Red 3 Pack.
Isn’t that the strangest thing about time? When you were a kid, and a commercial said “these grapes started nearly thirty years ago” you felt like it was a big deal. Thirty years? you’d maybe think, That was back in World War Two! But now you’re of an age when you hear “The Galante family began growing grapes in 1983” and you think Hey, that’s when I was hitting the dance clubs! That’s not very long at all!
But you know what? It is. And it’s time you face it. You’re not getting any younger.
Thankfully, the Galante Vineyards Estate Red 3 Pack shows us that aging isn’t always a bad thing. Like this 2006 Rancho Galante Cabernet Sauvignon? It’s just turning five, which is a pretty ripe old age for a wine. And yet, it’s still able to boast a deep ruby red color, with a nose of vanilla and black pepper spice, plus deep flavors of blackberry and cedar. We hear it’s only expected to grow more complex as time goes on, and why not? Don’t we all?
Or what about the 2006 Blackjack Pasture Cabernet Sauvignon? Bold, elegant, chewy, bright, these are just a few of the ways you could describe it. You could also go with lush and dark, chocolate and toffee, black cherry and cassis. Or maybe just the more inclusive “delicious” does the trick.
But then there’s the youngster, the 2008 Red Rose Hill Cabernet Sauvignon. Remember, the Galante family’s one of the premier Cabernet Sauvignon producers in all of California, so don’t be afraid, this one’s set to open right now. Deep color, a mouth of vanilla and cassis, thick tannins and a little hint of the new French oak barrel… well, maybe you’re right. Maybe it is worth shelving for a few years.
After all, you’re not getting any younger, but you’re not planning on going anywhere either, right? You might not be a kid any more, but you’re sure as hell not old.
