Dubost Ranch Paso Robles Carmenère
Oh sure, it sounds great.
Until you read it.
“Check it out, man. I snagged a 3-Pack of 2007 Dubost Ranch Paso Robles Carmenère.”
“Wow. Is it good?”
“Are you kidding? Listen to this: ‘bright beautiful nose full of orange peel and spice.”
“That sounds awful.”
“What? You don’t like oranges?”
“Not in my nose.”
“No, it’s not-”
“Oranges and spices in my nose? That sounds painful. I don’t want to drink something that makes me feel like I have oranges and spices in my nostrils.”
“No, it doesn’t make you feel that way, it-”
“Save it. You’re on your own.”
2007 Dubost Ranch Carmenère Colbert Vineyard, Paso Robles 3-Pack
- Alcohol: 13.7%
- Aged in 20% new French, and seasoned American oak barrels for 32 months prior to bottling
- Production: 100 cases
The “lost grape of Bordeaux” surprises us with a bright beautiful nose full of orange peel and spice followed with ripe red raspberry. Soft and subtle on the palate, cola and vanilla flavors balance a gentle acidity and silky tannins. This a great wine for vegetarian dishes such as stuffed peppers and vegetable lasagna.
