“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

Here ya go:

"Dominant floral aromatics, with orange blossom taking the lead and a touch of wet stone. On the palate, the wine has sweet notes of peach and nectarine and a subtle layer of citrus peel. The wine has a nice acidity, and a creamy mouthfeel.

I've enjoyed every Woot cellars wine so far. Excellent QPR!

In for 3, and wishing it was 6 per order instead of 5.

1st obvious question. How sweet is it.
Dry, off-dry, sweet?

Edit: answered my own question. Looks like its medium, which Wikipedia defines as up to 45g/l

26 gm / L of residual sugar makes this a VERY VERY VERY sweet deal

How dry is this one? I like a "dry Riesling" but when they get more than a tad sweet I get frustrated.

Are the woot cellar offerings any good? I haven't seen one in a while, but everyone raves about the from what I've seen.

New Jersey supposedly now allows wine shipments, how come I can't order my Woot Wine yet??

Not a sweet wine drinker myself, but these will make awesome gifts! in for one.

Looks like a nice deal.

I'll point out that the pH vs RS ratio makes it appear as if it might be a great summer sipper, but it may not be as versatile with foods as a higher pH Riesling. F-bomb is likely accurate.

It's worth it just for the fun of asking, "F-Bomb, anyone?" For some reason those words are never uttered around our table. It's a puzzlement.

They now allow it but each winery must apply for and obtain licensing. It's going to be a slow process.

Here's more info: NJ Wine Shipments

Article: New Jersey wine shipping law will slowly but surely take effect

Of course they are! Do you really think Woot would steer you wrong? Woot Cellar offerings are almost an auto-buy for me. This one especially since I prefer whites > reds.

Thanks WD!!!

First Ty Caton Red, Now this? Woot you're really killing my wallet here. Payday can't come soon enough.

If I had more money I would have been in for 3, Sadly I'm in for two and hoping someone at work wants to buy a couple.

The quality of my last woot cellar wine was fantastic, Since then they have become an auto-buy for me. The name is just an added bonus

I got the Woot Wine 5 year anniversary Late Harvest Zinfandel and it was amazing! If that is any indication of how all Woot Wine is, this ought to be good as well :D

<<<< I'll ask the usual drinking window question...

I know many Rieslings don't hold up well to aging (nor do they require it.) I'm curious though... is it best to drink this now? Would it benefit from any aging at all?

Thanks

I'm a wine padawan. Help. I'd like something about as sweet as soda. Pacific Rim Vin de Glaciere was too sweet, more like Sno-Cone syrup. Is this right for me?

In for one just out of principle. Hopefully There isn't
too much regret about not buying more.

This is a sad commentary on my willpower. Just bought two for the label alone! I'm not even that fond of sweet Rieslings, although I am currently sipping one from St. Julian, mostly so I can move on. Prefer the drier Gard Riesling. Now, if I were smart, rather than won over by labels, I would compare all the specs before I bought.

I like wine, however, I may drink only a bottle or two a month, and I have a few sitting here. In other words, what is the time on drinking this?

Any time is good for drinking Riesling.
And with recent purchases, I have a lot to drink.

How long will they last though? Or, heck, maybe I'll just up my consumption for the summer!

They are all good, but the reds normally need at least 10 to 12 months in the bottle. The whites seem to be drinkable pretty much right away.

The reds I've mostly kept for at least a year before opening. Exception being the Finito del Vinito.

You can gift to a different address. Just check the gift box and provide a different shipping address.

Realize that you will get dinged for two $5 shipping charges. Or you could just order 2 sets and give the second set yourself.

Good test of the will power.

Typically I would buy simply for woot and the label.

However, my SWMBOSIWBM plus my Riesling snobbery will prevent me from this purchase.

Riesling is a colder climate grape amiright?

CT Updating, please wait....

hell, just bought that case of riesling a week or so back, but then I'm a sucker for riesling, especially a slightly sweet one, in for one, guess I'll have to convert that armoire to wine storage sooner rather than later.
