Thank you! And they are 97%UV filtered glass - protects the oil from the harmful effects of light - and they're great for flowers afterwards!

Save the Costco bottle for wrestling, try ours for some delicious finishing of your favorite things - roasted garlic on mashed potatoes - the extra virgin cold pressed drizzled over a simple chevre cheese - sprinkle with some pink Himalayan salt, a crusty bread and your set!

I am Bruno with Salute Sante Our Extra Fine Cold Pressed is a total different product than Costco's. It is a finishing oil with full buttery, nutty flavor with a hint of wine fementation

I *am* low on grapeseed oil....but I usually use it for high-heat cooking, which this would be a waste for given its price and relatively small capacity.

I guess I'm simply not refined enough to be able to pull the trigger on artisanal grapeseed oils, even though I'm an oil addict (19 different flavours/prestiges of olive and balsamic...and counting).

Someone who buys it be sure to provide an update what you used it with.

Wouldn't want you to miss this, so I'll chime in! Sure you can cook with all our grapeseed oils (we have a bigger, more economical 1 Liter) but these are special since you can add delicious flavor to your food, and still get the high heat factor, high nutritional value and delicious taste by just drizzling a little bit on your dish. Did you know it takes almost one ton of grapes to make that bottle of cold pressed grapeseed oil...it sure fits the list of most prestige oils on the planet...thats why it's called Salute Sante!

Hm tempting. Been holding off for a finishing oil for food (i'm a vegetarian). But i'm not very familiar with grapeseed oil at all.

Also once the bottle is open what is the time frame i have to use it all, and what's the best way to store it open/unopened?

I saw this as soon as I woke up and before tea. A little bleary eyed. I saw Grape without the G, which is Canola oil, and said wow, talk about branding and up selling!
After the fog cleared, I saw Grape and thought all’s right with the world.

By the way, Woot comments don’t allow naughty words so I can’t write Grape without the G.

I love a good oil, but never used Grapeseed. I actually did a double-take, thinking it said Rapeseed.
In for two.

We guarantee all oil oils with a 24 month shelf life from production. These 2 batches were made within the last few weeks so you have plenty of time! Once opened we recommend it be used within 6 months for full nutritional value. For storage, since our bottles are 97%UV filtered glass, you can keep these on the counter for easy access to dip, drizzle or marinate as you"re cooking. This special glass protects the oil from the harmful effects of light, so be careful with oils packed in clear glass or plastic - as it sits on the shelf in the store the light damages other oils - and plastic is the worse since it leeches into the oil!

I am interested. Since half of the comments are from the seller, I know a room full of you are paying attention. Could you post some links to articles or scientific papers regarding the health benefits of grapeseed oil? I am interested in the antioxidant content especially. "Higher levels of antioxidants (OPC) and vitamin E" is a little (a lot actually) vague. Higher than what? Also, "Natural chlorophyll and lecithin." Really7 How does a seed of a dark skinned fruit contain chlorophyll? Isn't exposure to direct sunlight necessary for the production of chlorophyll? I am not a botanist, but it seems unlikely. I am leaning toward buying some of this oil just for its claimed yumminess, but proof of the health claims would encourage me to pull the trigger. Evidence...whatcha got?

Great questions! Here re some links to our site and articles that have been written about our oils - as far as the chlorophyll, I’m not a botanist or chemist either, but its what our lab analysis shows us – remember, the seed was in a plant that was exposed to the sun at one point! And, the seed is the source of life, so that’s good for me!!! And our new production for the extra virgin cold pressed oils take these claims to a higher level! Keep the questions coming!

Grapeseed oil and olive oil are like salt and pepper - you need both in the kitchen! With that said, these 2 specific oils - the roasted garlic and the extra virgin cold pressed are best used as finishing oils to maximize the flavor and nutritious value. The roasted garlic tastes pure garlic so enjoy where you like that taste and the extra virgin is a whole new tasteprofile - very full flavor and a reminiscent of the wine crush - you have to taste it to know! So go ahead and drizzle on salads, cheeses and salt, veggie - mix into tuna tartare, over cured meats. Lots of recipes here:

Enjoy!

Grapeseed oil is much higher in omega-6 fats than it is in omega-3 fats. Such an imbalanced omega-6:omega-3 ratio has been linked to inflammation in the body and general health problems, so I wouldn't recommend it as a health oil. Centuries ago people were consuming a omega-6:omega-3 ratio of roughly 1:1. Today that number is closer to 15:1. Though I see this oil is at least extra virgin and cold pressed so it's of higher quality than the typical stuff.

It's also not considered a traditional oil (like olive oil or coconut oil) which are the healthiest of oils assuming they are minimally processed (i.e., cold or expeller pressed).

Looked at the website. These two bottles would cost 26 bucks without whatever the shipping costs would be. Can't seem to find them on there anywhere and you need to sign up and log in for the cart.At 23 bucks total these seem like a good deal for trying it out. Hubs loves bottles of stuff when he's cooking, so this is going in the Father's Day basket!

ok, curiousity is killing the cat here. Just another reason I hate going to napa valley, I just can't resist what fabulous stuff they have to offer. Since I've never tried grapeseed oil.. it's going to be a total experiment. I hope I can figure out more to use it on, than just drizzling it on baked potatoes

By all means buy this oil, but do not think it's that much "healthier" than any other oil. Consider the following:

1) There's very little evidence that raising levels of "good" HDL cholesterol is beneficial, merely a lot of correlations. In fact, two major drug companies had to scrap drugs that raised HDL because they either had no effect or actively hurt people (most recent one was in the news last week).

2) I guarantee that green leafy vegetables are a better source of chlorophyll. I would also recommend chocolate as a tastier source of lecithin (and about as "healthy").

Does that mean this oil isn't worth buying? I don't know, but I'm going to pass because I buy oil based on its flavor profile (mmm .. olive oil) and its ability to stand up to high temperatures (sadly, olive oil and butter smoke at a low heat). If this is to be used as a 'finishing' oil, that sounds like it's not suited to high heat applications...

I wouldn't say *any* other oil. I'd classify this as being much healthier than corn oil made from GMO corn and extracted at high temperatures with a chemical solvent like hexane.

I'd also say that organic first cold pressed unfiltered extra virgin olive oil is much healthier than this oil.

Hi Bruno here from Salute Sante GSO There are plenty of evidence about the health attributes of GSO just google it and go to www.ehow.com for a start
Also in terms of flavor you are in for a new treat with our Extra Virgin Cold Pressed

Unfortunately Googling "is soybean oil healthy" brings up results that suggest it is based on outdated information. A highly refined industrial oil like soybean can't possibly be healthy, the point being Google sometimes doesn't give you the best info.

Another example is the case of coconut oil. Google still returns results that deem it unhealthy due to its saturated fat content.
