Why no Maryland? I could get their Cab.

Black tie on 12/16/2011, but not today. How come the change of status?

Not so rare if it's offered more than once in 4 months, right?

No notes, but I do remember that these never made it downstairs to the cellar. First opened due to laziness, the others due to the yummyness.

That one was on my birthday, always a special event. Today -- not so much.

Black tie has about as much correlation with the woot as the moon cycle does. I just assume "Black Tie" means don't scoff at the price before doing research. After researching, then it is all up to you. I don't get why $20 a bottle would be black tie?

I love petite sirah, but aam hesitant to go in. With Esoterica, Ty Caton, etc. their Gewürztraminer--although quite nice for the price--didn't really impress. Yea. Yea. Cue the comments of "what did you expect from a 7.50 bottle of wine. Yet, that isn't what it was "retailed" at. We are supposed to get a deal. So, this, makes me think it drinks, at best, as a $20 bottle, and at worse, far less.

Same thing was happening with Ty Caton. One of his offerings - the Merlot - was shipping to MD; a few hours later, his Petit Verdot was not.

He swears he's registered in MD; Woot told me it's not their issue, but the winery's.

So ...

It's really too bad. I suspect we're getting closed out sometimes by a clerical error.

MD has accepted direct shipment from registered wineries for a couple of years now.

In for one. PS is my weakness with wines. Then again, if Purple Angel shows up, I want the whole lot.

Just me.

FYI, I just checked again (about the 5th time) and NOW Maryland IS showing up as a place it ships. In for one.

Cool! Thanks for the update. Too bad it's too late on the Ty Caton PV ...

While no doubt your birthday was a very special day, I have a hard time believing it was 12/16/2011. If so, you're English and typing skills are quite impressive for a 4 month old ;)

Well I'm new to wine and I got Copa Del Rey Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon and Pedroncelli Sonoma County Port. I dont know if this would be good to get or not since I'm just trying stuff to see what I like. Any input?

Lucas Meeker commented on these back in December:

I got them two days before Christmas and popped open the '07 at Christmas dinner. Beautiful deep red purple color. Good viscosity...syrupy. I thought it was still harsh and a bit unbalanced after decanting twice and letting it stand for a hour. My preference would be to let the '07 age for a year or two more.

I have not tried the '06.

Regards,

Greg

Same with Kansas.
Half the Meeker woots ship to Kansas, the other half don't. Makes me wonder if this was offered on woot before Kansas was available as a direct ship and the list didn't get updated.

I used to have a location to ship to in MO, but no longer. Meeker should ship to KS anyway. It's a little annoying. If I didn't need someone to sign for it, I could ship it across the state line.

Maybe we should start a special forum for us Wine Whiners ...

There should be a direct like of contact between either WD or one of his reps to get these issues fixed quickly, like he did with the MD.

The woot people send the same reply no matter what that the wineries do the shipping which we all know to be incorrect.

bummed that i missed scott's zin. hope i haven't missed any wellington wine. i thought i would get through this woot-off without much damage, but i went for the PS. i guess that's minimal...

i really enjoyed the '06 (as much as i enjoyed their cab franc from a previous offer)...the '07 needs a little more time (in my opinion). but with more '06 i can let the '07 rest awhile longer. i went in for a few more bottles.

You haven't missed any Wellington, though I am still holding out hope for some Wellington Port!

I wish I could say the same for minimal damage. 6 orders, 29 bottles and way too much money....this credit card bill is going to be bad. Not to mention Wine Dinner with Scott Harvey tomorrow night, hotel room, two baseball games this week...sign. Who wants to buy some wine? haha

Kinda sad I didn't jump on this one. After a little online research it seems it would have been a good idea to try it.

That would be nice. Since I know Meeker ships to KS, I probably should have just tried ordering it anyway even though it wasn't on this list. Bummed to miss out.
