Far longer than you can resist drinking them.

Sorry I didn't get on before this ran out. Been flying all day and just landed in Cleveland. The 2008 vintage is the first vintage that I stopped adding the Forte. This is 100% Zinfandel from Vineyard 1869. Thanks for all the support. Look forward to seeing the wooters tomorrow in Wootster.

Received tracking info this morning.

Anticipated Ship Date: 5/2
Estimated Delivery (to NC): 5/9

The only activity is shipment info sent to FedEx on 5/2.

Here's hoping it comes in tomorrow.

I also received the same tracking information, but mine was supposed to be here yesterday. Did not show up. I am guessing they have the labels printed and are just waiting to put them on the boxes and ship them out!

Just spoke with FedEx. The label has been created, but it has not yet shipped. Looks like I won't be drinking this on my birthday this weekend after all.

Why is it the wine I am looking forward to the most is taking the longest to arrive? Frustrating because when I order directly from SH, it comes in a week! Still stuck at "initiated".

Can anyone tell me why my shipment is coming from Kansas City, MO?

May 12, 2012 10:52 AM
Left FedEx origin facility KANSAS CITY, MO
May 12, 2012 5:08 AM
Arrived at FedEx location KANSAS CITY, MO
May 12, 2012
Picked up KANSAS CITY, MO

I did not order no wine from no Mo-zoor-ee! My great-granddaddy did run a saloon there in KC in 1870...

I am sure there is a perfectly logical explanation, but there has GOT to be a story behind this one! Just please tell me this is not some bottles that have been sitting on the shelf of a tiny, overheated liquor store in downtown KC.

Greg

At least yours is on the move. Mine continues to be stuck in initiated land.

It looks they they are shipping some of the wine by non-fedex carrier to KC where it is turned over to FedEx. I imagine they save money this way and/or allows them to use refrigerated trucks to better insure the quality of the wine against the heat. It looks they have had at least 2 truckloads to KC so far.

BTW this is how they handle summer shipments (but not always to KC.)

Also my 1869 shipment is still only in the initiated stage.

Mine just delivered in NC, originating (according to the FedEx tracking site) from KC, MO. A little warm, but no leakage.
