The Fairy Tale turns into Pedrocelli Petite.
A Grimm tale, or something more sinister even?

Wow - if you click on the picture, it turns into Petite Syrah!

I know that Iron Horse sparklers are pretty highly regarded around here. Can anyone provide some tasting notes on this one?

Looks like there's some Pedroncelli Petite Syrah on deck, haha.

Very tempting, but even with the 25% discount it's a little beyond my price range right now. Sad face.

$128 with shipping and tax to CA on their website. Seems like a good deal if you are into the sparkly.

I'd put it somewhere in the lower/middle end of their sparklings. I've only had it as part of the club shipment, and it's good, but not my favorite from them.

It's in the middle of the road for dryness, but still in the dry/off dry area. Definitely not sweet. I remember it being pretty full bodied too.

My preference in their sparklings tends to slide more toward their brut/brut X to give some context.

In general, all of their wines are tasty and well made, and I don't think anyone would be disappointed in it if you like dry sparkling wine.

From the write-up:

"Available only at Disneyland, Disney World, Disney Cruise ships and through the winery. "

I thought that was the case. How did WD get his hands on some of this?

I love all of Iron Horse's offerings; they make some of the best sparkling wine I have ever had.

My wife will not be too happy when she looks at the CC. That is until she sees the bubbles. In for 2! Love Iron Horse!

I can't believe this is up! I was just at the winery and they said you can only get this at Disney.

I really liked this. I had notes of toasted biscuit, fresh citrus, well crafted, creamy.

Tasted & bought an 07 Fairy Tale when we were at Iron Horse visiting the RRV this March. A hint more sweetness as compared with the Brut X and Russian Brut Cuvée. Very approachable for both 'dry' drinkers, 'pink' drinkers and 'I don't like champagne' drinkers.

Very nice brioche nose & light golden color & Ends with a crisp sweetness -- almost a crisp vanilla apple (red, not green) palate. I prefer mine bubbles on the dry side, but liked it enough to buy a bottle to share with a specific couple who prefer off dry bubbly& thought all 4 of us would enjoy this bottle. FWIW - My favorites were the Wedding & Winter's Cuvée.

We paid $42.50 a bottle with a discount since we bought a mixed 6 pack.

"We hear of the conversion of water into wine at the marriage in Cana as of a miracle. But this conversion is, through the goodness of God, made every day before our eyes. Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes, to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy." Never thought I'd buy black tie bubbles - but my wife's favorite place on the planet is Dland and her favorite drink is champagne. She's in for a nice suprise.

Now any chance this will make it by Mother's Day?!?

Edit: I need a smiley avatar - just noticed how unhappy he looks which just isn't fitting with this purchase.

That is supposed to be true, but I know Joy has been on here before and said that people in the know can still obtain it at the winery.

glad my pallette is not as sophisticated with sparkling wine the way it is with still wine (though that is not saying much!). I am perfectly happy with a Korbel/Barefoot cuvee.

I did go in for the previous IH offering and had the Brut for Easter. It was good but not $30 good.

Is there a big difference? if so, what is it? What dio i look for?

Ive been to the winery and LOVE it. Scenic and peaceful.

I happen to like the Korbel Brut. So I'm wondering how this compares and whether my pallet is sophisticated enough for a $40 bottle of bubblies..

I agree with you on this one, which is why I am going to pass. I have had very little experience with bubbles other than random NYE ones, so until I can venture out and dry some of them, I don't think I could appreciate these properly.

I will admit, the rarity and generally unavailability of these "Disney" bubbles almost made me push the button, but I don't have the storage to hang on to these.

In for 2. All this talk of weddings reminded me that I'm supposed to be getting married at some point in the indefinite future. My sole responsibility right now is the wine and toast. Unless something better comes up between now and this, this will be for me and my bride to be. Maybe a few select others. The rest get something less expensive.

I'm also interested in the drinking window. I don't have much knowledge about aging bubbly... do the same principles apply?

Did anyone catch what year the Pedroncelli PS was? I wanted to do some advanced research since I may be in route/at a baseball game when it pops up.

I love bubbles and I've been looking for an excuse to get a black tie buy. I would love this but havent had the best bubbles experience lately which is why I stick to the $10-20 bottles at the grocery store. Can anyone actually say that this is worth the money?

Not sure how this one isn't gone already. Anyone who knows Iron Horse knows that this is a gotta be a killer sparkler. And given its price point, it's one of their best, at a 25% discount to the vineyard price -- before shipping. And for those of us Disney-philes out there, it's totally irresistible!
