So I bought this TV last night: Panasonic TC-L37E5. Got a great deal on it at the place I occasionally work at (which is why I work there). Ended up being $326 after a GC I had from buying an Xbox for Christmas. It was a customer return and I had the girl look up why they returned it. They brought it back because the person they bought it for died. Creepy. Now I'm paranoid I purchased the poltergeist TV. Still, it was half price, and it's a quite nice TV. Way better than I had planned on getting for the bedroom, but sometimes you just fall into deals.

Well we survived Relay For Life!!!! 18 hours straight! I think I walked for 16 of the 18 hours. almost non stop!! We raised a bunch of money for the American Cancer Society.... and can still take donations until July. Last year we were able raise a lot of money after the event. We earned our own porta potty!! Its the little things in life that makes us happy The down side it that I think I seriously messed up my knee. I might actually have to go into the hospital walk in clinic tomorrow...

I don't care. If you want to outbid me, fine. If I ask nicely/beg/plead as it is something that I'd really like (or vice-versa), it would be appreciated if we didn't get into a bidding war. Although, honestly, it wouldn't bother me.

Question for the mods: I wouldn't want to get on probation for putting a link up, asking for help. Just about a year ago, one of our 8th grade students was hit by a car and critically injured. About two months ago, Alyssa was allowed to go home. She is still in a semi-comatose state and the family is in need of a wheelchair van to transport her to doctors appointments, etc. It turns out that her family is in a contest for a wheelchair van. They need votes for this contest which runs through May 13th. Would it be OK to post the link, so that our wine.woot community can help with the votes? Thanks!

It was interactive and funny and people from all walks of life seemed like they were having a good time. Price was steep but it was for a birthday so I didn't mind. Plus I brought a pack of fake mustaches and an eye patch for my party and it ratcheted up the silly fun level by about 200%.

One last winebid question: If one wins an auction on Sunday, do they send the bottles that week (more specifically, that Monday) if you have it set that way? I see that you can choose a few options--weekly, q2 wks, monthly.

And, for the record, I don't think I would knowingly bid against someone on here.

IIRC, it was mostly links for other retail sites they have problems with. I would suspect that since this is for charity, it might be okay.

Alyssa has been entered into a “National Mobility Awareness Month contest to win a new wheelchair van. There are approximately 900 candidates from all across the United States hoping to win this van. You can vote once per day. If you use one of these codes (Codes are: 777, 854, 828, 829, 830, 831)…it counts as 5 votes instead of 1. -Vote for Alyssa!

Apparently, only one vote per IP address is allowed per day.

well I decided not to go to the walk in clinic for my knee. It only hurts really bad if it is immobile for a while..

warning rant to follow....
tomorrow all school age kids from grades 3-12 have to take a stupid test called the FCAT. Jeb Bush started this test. basically kids must pass or they don't move up a grade... but the kicker is it cost soo much, and they purposely try to trick the kids.. also, teachers are not supposed teach for the test, but they have to or they get in trouble if kids dont do well. In thurs. paper it stated that we parents need to be prepared because most kids will now fail the test because they changed the test to make it harder and changed the grading system!! Also, if you are a high school senior, did well on the SAT and have been accepeted into a college, but fail the FCAT, you don't graduate!! Last year, the kids didn't get their test scores until almost the beginning of the new school year, because there was a glitch in the grading system!!!! Seriously... what happened to taking a national standardized test at the beginning of the school year then taking the same test at the end and see what gains have been made? Elementary kids are not being taught history or civics as it is not on the test!!!!!! kids are soo stressed about this test, they are making themselves sick!! our teachers took a paycut and have had insurance go up, yet we can spend millions on a stupid test that I am now being told my kids will fail?!!! grrrrrrr...

end of rant!
