This is taking unusually long for shipment at least for NY delivery. Not the end of the world though.

My order shows the shipping label was printed out on the 15th. Still not picked up yet.

Mine too, Fedex says initiated but not shipped. What gives???
Today is two weeks since I bought the wine. Since it hasn't even been picked up yet I highly doubt that the "within 3 weeks" is going to be achieved since I live in NY. Does the winery have actual people that work there? How hard can it be to get the orders packed and shipped? Its not like all the orders are different. Why not put in a few extra hours a couple of nights to get them out the door so that next time wine from your vineyard comes up on the site again someone might actually buy it?

Ditto - except that I live in Maryland.
Hopefully this is one of those situations where the wine arrives before the notification. I'm also in NY and no progress beyond the shipper being notified.

Problem with that is someone has to be available to sign for it. At least in my case, that takes planning.
nrg2go wrote:But, the issue I have with this is that the payment left my bank before the wine actually left the vineyard. I shouldn't be billed until the wine is en-route.
Naive question: Is that a Visa/MC rule?
Last summer the shipping did not update until the pkg got into their system to either atl or mem for 2 day delivery to fl. Kinda like omaha steaks, qvc, etc do their perishables. They get their product to the carriers hubs for 1-2 day delivery. I guess they contract it out in a refer cross country for summer delivery. Prob not enough to utilize a railcar. I dont think this is the case in this matter. My cc was charged on 3/13. Too long.
Im in the same boat as most of you, I checked through my previous purchases and on average it takes between 6-9 days for fed ex to receive the shipment then a week or so beyond that to receive the wine. This time were going on 14 days since I paid and still havent gotten the package to fed ex... I hate to be a negative nancy but wouldnt it make sense to update your clients when there is a considerable delay? Offer some sort of information as to when we can expect the wine to finally come in? Im not in a position that it would bother me to wait I just would like to know how long I'm going to be waiting...

Yeah, some information would be great. Wooters are a very patient, understanding bunch (with some exceptions of course). In fact, maybe it's the large amount of wine they needed to move, which makes shipping time-consuming, that was the reason we got what seems like a great deal. As we're sipping some great wine over the next few years, a couple extra weeks to have gotten to us won't be any problem at all. After all, this is wine, which doesn't spoil like other perishables and often gets better while it sits around, right? So, delay is not the end of the world. But leaving us hanging with no information just causes frustration. So, a word from woot or the winery?
On 3/12/12, I purchased White Oak Cab/Merlot offering! Ref# 37183661. I have NOT received my order, any notice of shipment, or any update as to when it will ship. I paid with PayPal! They, the winery, got their money immediately!! The ONLY thing I have is a Fedex shipping number, that has yet to be used by the shipper! I would like to know "Where's the Wine?" I've done my part, how about doing yours!

I just emailed the winery. we shall see what they have to say. at least give us an explanation....

Quick response: Hi Paul, We do not fulfill the wine woot orders from the winery, they do their own shipping. I was told to direct any inquiries to service@woot.com . Please let me know if this doesn’t get you to the right place. Will Hunter Sales Director White Oak Vineyards & Winery will@whiteoakwinery.com 707.291.3209

Good day, my apologies for not seeing this sooner (thanks Thunder Thighs!) These wines should be delivered this week to midwest and east coast recipients. this was a larger sale than anticipated which resulted in some behind the scenes moves (good moves) that caused a delay in the tracking info being uploaded even though the product is in transit. i'll update this thread once i have more specifics (researching now). but i'm comfident the wines will be delivered this week in fine working order. thanks.

Ah, carting some across the country in your own truck eh? Makes sense. This sounds like the highest single-offering volume you've had, or certainly close.

Do i smell a logistics man.. ? :-)
I got this from Service@woot..... Per the Wine.Woot FAQ: http://wine.woot.com/WhatIsWoot.aspx#qw14 "How long is shipment going to take? You should get your wine in 2-3 weeks, often sooner. We know the wait is kind of a drag. But it’s still gonna taste good (maybe even better), and since we leave it to the wineries to get the wine to you, you can count on their experience to send their wine using their expert methodologies." It is not uncommon for our vendors to print the shipping labels and prepare the packages to ship well in advance of the actual shipment of the order. Once the package is in transit, the tracking will automatically update. We apologize for the inconvenience. Randy I wrote back: yeah, we know this already. but it's been two weeks. and it hasn't shipped. so it looks very likely that it's going to miss the 3 week mark. the members of wine woot, would like at least some idea of where in the process it is. Thanks! hopefully we will get at least some info.

what would really help is knowing WHEN the wine is set to arrive! someone needs to sign for it, so we need to be ehome when the wine will come. fedex has zero info.

you should see a scan tonight or tomorrow morning. delivery 1-2 days from first scan. hope that helps.

thanks dave. why do you have this information?
Ut oh, travelling this week & next. Hope the hold at Fed Ex location is available so I can give someone the doc's to pick up for me. It would be a shame to have these babies make the long trip back cross country after waiting this long.
Same goes for here in Virginia-I just hope it's being kept cool.

the fedex page says that this package is not available for hold. we need to find out exactly WHEN the package is coming (time window), so that someone can be here to receive the package!
Approaching noon and still no update from "anticipated ship date March 15" Is there any way to cancel this order? I am worried that no one will be able to be here to receive the shipment if it ever comes.
Same here guys. Having to sign for the wine is my main problem. One day notice is not going to cut it.
Maybe they sold more than they actually had, and are now busy putting White Oak labels on Two Buck Chuck to ship.
NOPE. Still waiting. Very upset. This was my second wine woot and may be my last.
Until it hits 3 weeks and I don't have my wine I am not going to be upset. Right now I would like to know when I can expect to get the wine I feel that for how little it cost I can wait a while. Fortunately, I should be able to pick it up when it comes in even if I need to drive to the distribution center.

Is the hold at fedex location option available for you? My non-shipped fedex notification says this is not available for this shipment, so if I don't have notification and can arrange for someone to be available to sign for it when is shows up, I'm apparently screwed.

After FedEx tries your house twice with your wine with no answer they hold it at the local FedEx office for you to come pick it up. Then you go, sign for it, and leave. It's just like a hold except it take a couple of days of them trying to deliver it before you can go pick it up. Unfortunately, over a couple of years of wine wooting we've had to do this twice. It's really not that big of a deal, IMO. That said, I've now wooted over 50 times at wine.woot alone and have yet to have something like this happen where there is no update on the FedEx tracking for weeks. But I also have to assume that this was one of the larger volume woots ever (12 bottle per woot x lots of woots). Woot hasn't done me wrong yet. And the couple of times they did make mistakes, they were very generous in making things right (without me even asking).
4pm EST. Still no updates on FedEx tracking. This was my first time trying wine.woot and not too impressed
damorere wrote:Is the hold at fedex location option available for you? My non-shipped fedex notification says this is not available for this shipment
tdavis304 has it right. In addition when I had trouble being home for a package I was able to call the distribution center and pick it up their before they left. I don't know how common it is for them to let you do that my case may have been an exception.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the winery said Woot was delivering... Woot's FAQ's say the winery deliveries. The most frustrating part to me is that I was charged for it on the 14th and shipping notice was created on the 15th. Still no word or wine. I think Woot owes all of us a more specific explaination.
BINGO! This. If we knew when it was coming, we could ask Fedex to knock on the neighbors door or something and have it left at the neighbors. But we don't even know when the damn wine is coming! I feel the natives are getting restless!

Like you mentioned, the odd thing is the lack of update from FedEx after the tracking info was sent. This also is happening to the Black Zeppelin order which had a March 19th date on the tracking. Seems like Woot is creating the tracking info LONG before they are ready to ship, but it's strange to have it happen to multiple orders that were made about the same time. No wine order since has created tracking info yet. Maybe the logistics problem was caught relatively quickly.

From what was already posted by David above, I think we can infer that FedEx labels were created for all of the shipments with the original plan probably being to send everything straight out of California by FedEx. But it was probably determined to be more cost-effective (remember, we're only paying $5 for shipping) to line up a freight trucking company to bring the east coast shipments to the east coast prior to being turned over to FedEx. It sounds like they expected the hand-off to occur last night but it hasn't happened yet. I know from many wine woots that when they ship from CA by FedEx, the trip across the country takes a few days. That's happening again, this time without tracking updates since it's not via FedEx. And it probably took a few extra days up front to line up the trucking company. From where I sit, I have more wine than space as it is. We paid very little for this wine. It gets here when it gets here. I'm not all that worried. And, FYI, I'm also in Maryland. All that said, I would also love to get an update from David.

I'm in on that woot as well. Honestly, I'm betting they put it on the same truck. What weird is that the two woots I wooted after the Black Zeppelin don't even have FedEx numbers yet, and they've been queued up longer than normal.
