Howdy everybody! Going to get out early this AM to do a bunch of errands. Going to the movies tonight. Recommendations? Don't particularly want to see Hunger Games or John Carter. Otherwise, open to all suggestions.

Hope nobody lives in an area that has been or is projected to be in the path of the tornados.

Take care. Back later.

Still trying to decide if this is a cold, strep or allergies. Of course I could just ask a doctor.

Plus....disaster! I weighed myself and I'm back to my top weight...how can I blame the dog for this??

Tried to go a chicken place that is 5 stars but they were too busy so we went to a hamburger joint across the street. Had chicken fried hamburger (on a bun) with country gravy. O M G, it was soooooo good.

Then the band which was excellent. Instead of taking a break, they each took turns with solos to give the other members a break. That was nice because it meant we got a solid 2 hrs of music.

Rudy Gatlin was in the audience and they brought him up at the end to join in.

Nice thing was that this was a really small venue. It was a movie theater built in 1950 with a balcony. So we were like 30' from the stage.

Then back to the hamburger joint to sit in the open air bar with margaritas in the warm summer breeze. Perfect.

What? What is wrong with this post????

NOTHING!

It can still happen!!! A good night!!!

Good afternoon everyone. We've been out and about all morning. Hope everyone is having a beautiful day.

I just posted a picture on my FB of a half grown alligator sunning across the ICW. Now he is trying to swim across but the boats keep washing him off course. He looks very healthy.

Hello. It's been raining all day and just kind of yucky, but a friend just called and invited us over to play Tripoley tonight, so that's better. Except I have to go out in the rain to get some kind of snack to take with me.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Guess what

Power washing isn't as much fun as it looks.

I did it until it ran out of gas.
Put new gas in, will play again on the day it is 80.

what kind of tablet?

Orc let me oversleep because he knows I've been exhausted. Except now I have to basically pull an all nighter to get the work stuff done. So I don't see it as helping in the long run. Plus I got given tickets for all of us to go see this magician that's doing some show at the Junior High (probably one of those, "Look I'm cool, drugs aren't" things, but everyone else wants to go and the Principal gave me free tickets so...)

So yay, just rolled out of a nice warm bed, and now am all stressed and have just under 2 hours to accomplish anything before the kids are dragging me out and then we are going to dye Easter eggs and have Easter activities tomorrow.

Bread started... Going to turn some of it into hot dog buns and I've decided I need to find a good source for vegan baking recipes that don't use egg replacer.

Went to see the magician that the principal gave us tickets to, it was pretty good. Got there later than we wanted because the bread did not rise well and I couldn't let it sit until we got back (well I might could, but then I wouldn't have hot dog buns in the oven for dinner - which they are rising in there now).

The show did drag a little, because I noticed that the hard bleacher seats from the Jr. High Field House were not comfortable. Place was packed but the boy sitting next to me insisted on having 3 seats (and almost pushed me off the end twice.) I wish my Mandarin was better, I don't think he spoke English.

Probably did, none of the adults he was with were, and there was only one time where they told him to be good (I do remember a little Mandarin). It just depends on when he got here. We have people moving in and out all the time.

We don't have the moving, but a good percentage of the kindergarten doesn't speak english. Usually the oldest kid in the family.

I have no clue what the problem is in NYC. The spanish speaking kids stay in eng as a second language for years and years.

You can't even tell who wasn't speaking english by the end of 1st grade here.

Hubby did the kindergarten trip and one of his kids didn't say one word to him until the souvenir stand. Then, suddenly, he could say "I need alligator" If it wasn't for the stuffed alligator, he never would have shown he could understand english, or speak it!

The weather looked kinda sketchy so we went to an outlet mall and cabelas instead. We bought some baby clothes, Mrs Ice found something she liked and I bought a bunch of shirts and a new pair of pants at Cabelas 'cause I like that kind (and don't fit any of may old clothes anymore). I did something bad to my back yesterday so I don't think walking on the uneven fleamarket ground would have helped at all.

There is a girl who joined Ver1's class in November from a French speaking West African country, with no English skills at all. I've had her read to me twice now, and her English is quite amazing!

I had a huge problem with baby siblings of my kids friends. Most were learning their native language first, but understood english too.
They would come to me and want something. Then get mad because I didn't know what they wanted!
I'm talking toddlers.
They would give me the "you are a mother, why aren't you doing what I asked" look.

I've had that too! I left Ver1 with a Taiwanese friend of mine and she was giving Ver1 (at like 16 months) some instructions in Mandarin. Her friend looked at her and asked when did Ver1 start understanding Mandarin. Ver1 had followed the directions, but she still doesn't understand Mandarin.

and wow they are so right, it takes so much longer to say the story in English.

It was semi intentional loss.I had to start eating better because of a medical condition and so the weight has been dropping since. I really hate to buy a bunch of clothes until I see where it levels out. I'm at what I concider my "ideal weight" now.

Wichita KS is about to be hit with a least 2 tornados. Mrs. Ice's cousins are sheltering underground and scared. It takes a lot for Kansas people to be scared. At least they have basements there. Prayers please.
