I wonder if this is kind of the same thing; effusive gushing for the sake of effusive gushing. Maybe a group psychology thing..

sodalite wrote:nope, those caramels were amazing... i've been delighted many times when unsuspecting guest pop one into their mouth only to be stunned of the delicious-ness.

I bought two batches of the salted caramels at Christmas and repackaged them into 4-6 pieces in little snowman ziplock bags. Handed them out like popcorn to everybody. Can you say Karma!!!

Wow, I'm offline for a few days and I miss a wine.woot deal with almost 300 discussion comments. I'm not even sure I have the energy to read it all, hehehe..

I guess WW knows what to sell to get a huge turnout..

Oh, and when I said that the last time was the slowest game of 20 questions, I'd ever played? I was wrong. Just saying.

Are you kidding, these guys love Syrah. I am a semi sweet white fan. and Ports.

20 Questions is fun and keeps things interesting when there is a quick sell out like todays offering...

FYI: I always stay awake to see the offerings. I live in Mountain Time, so it is really worth it for me to stay up until 11 to see what it is. Today was a PRIME example.

Nope. I gonna let Trifect get this one since he was the first to guess the wines themselves.

it is going to be a 2008 and will be need to be cellared for a year or 2

Bingo! Still letting Trifecta claim the guess on this one though.

Like the tortoise and the hare.... It may be a slow game but you get there. I'll try to pop in on days when the sale sells out early.

FYI: join me in 20 minutes on Woot for Woot! Clue! I play it an hour before the launch of sales for M-F (11pm cst S-Th).

That's great stuff. The 07 may well be even better than the 06 and I expect it to be $50 for four! Its that about right?

I know today's is a regular request and ALWAYS sells out fast.

As to wine, the others are the experts but I know we have some favorite wineries.

Why, the Wine.Wootoff! Bottle Of Cavedoni! Duh!
See what I did there? ;-)

For actual wine, I'd guess a Tytanium or Kronos vertical if one were ever offered.

for wine, anything from Scott Harvey is a huge hit, Ty Caton is also, so is Peter Wellington.

For types of wines: Cabs, apparently there is a large Petite Sirah following here, the Orange Crusher sold out fast. The Ice Wines sold out wicked fast.

Reds tend to sell better than whites.

I am in the minority as I like whites better than reds, but thats not to say I dislike reds. I have both in my cellar.

Cool! I'm not much of a wine expert either, been waiting for months for this Balsamic to pop up again. That strange feeling to check the deal last night payed off, but I kind of regret not buying two.
