Bowtie--when are you going to come up so we can get Potty Emergency! together?

Or, my sis lives in Lincoln, and I need to pay her a visit. You'd get along with her well.

ooooohjhhhhhhhhh, TOP!

Up until a year or so ago, I had no idea what I had been missing. You can't pay for this entertainment. Well, I guess yo do pay in woots... So tonight we nearly killed off a 2009 Raymond chard, totally dusted an OWW 2010 RRV Pinot Gris, quite tasty, a glass of something else I forget that was open, and washed it down with some MM 2008 Zin port. Almost opened a Duke. We'll save that. All in all, a very good evening.

Umm, I hope that means you're practicing for after too much drinking ... oh, never-mind. I thought you meant Curling. Although I really do like Men with Brooms.

Culver City is a cool spot, I enjoyed staying there when I visited. Lots of things to do around there. Make sure you check out Father's Office if you haven't yet.

So this was interesting. The highest rated wine (93 pts, Beringer Reserve Chard) was damn near undrinkable. Tasted like an oak tree. The best were the way too young Bordeaux, a 15 year old Sauternes, and L&L Toccata Reserva that our leader had relabelled for a client.

Edit: And why do I keep thinking that the current offer is going to attract drug users???

this weather is too weird!! It is in the upper 80's wind blowing like crazy, pretty humid... and tomorrow it will be in the upper 60's! I was trying to get some outside jobs done... but it is almost too windy... We actually had to turn on the air thur. night, there was a huge brush fire about 45 min away from us. That night we had really bad fog, and it brought the smell of the smoke right into the house....made it hard to breathe!!

if it rainy and cold tomorrow... I am staying in bed!!

Tomorrow we start training for the MS bike ride. Thursday's snow has mostly melted. Will be about 40 with 9-10 mph winds when we go out. Gotta love layers. And a balaclava.

Care to join us?

If I can be the chase (motor)cycle!
WE rode in freezing temps on route 66 last week. Today here it is heaven.

I need a new balaclava. Mine is wearing out. No one carries it anymore. A lightweight, simple 1/2 face, nylon style.

Might be one here worth your while. Maybe not.

Thanks for the invite.... but I will pass!!

But I hope you do have a good ride...even though it is CRAZY to go out in that cold weather, let alone bike in it!!

If the weather isn't too bad, I might go buy a kindle touch.... Thought I wanted the Fire, till I realized how much of a glare there is, and it is too hard on the eyes to use just as a reader.

The one I have doesn't cover my nose, just my chin. It is made of thin nylon,. It comes down to cover my neck, not onto my shoulders. Cycle gear used to carry them, but no longer. I have tested everyone out there, to no avail. I will probably end up buying fabric and making my own. I know they are available somewhere, just can't find them!

What about this one? Looks like it covers your chin only.

It was one of the links off to the side on bowtie's link.

I visited REI yesterday. They already removed winter gear from the sales floor (no matter we are still in the low 40's sometimes). This one is close, and I thought about ordering it. The one I have weigh's 3/4 ounce, no liner, no fleece, just thin nylon, like tricot. I swear I have looked at every balaclava available online. What happened to the container full of the one I have? Did all 250000 of them really sell out of every store?!

Just popping in to let you guys know that we reached our Kickstarter goal! Hooray! Thanks so much for sharing the link and for pledging funds. Even if I'm just a lurky wine.wooter.

There's still about 14 hours to get in and get posters/CDs, etc. You know, for those of you who are all into that classical guitar/voice thing...

Anyway, totally jazzed right now. And not just because I'm out in SD for the weekend doing 3 concerts in two days.

It's weird to want to get a little unbusy, so I can pay a little more attention to W.W without feeling guilty. XD I don't know how some of you do it with your hectic schedules. Maybe I need to drink more coffee (or wine?).

I think REI assumes that all outdoorsy-types plan ahead by months and months, and thus would have already purchased such gear.

I like REI, but I always feel "out of season" when I shop there. Like I just missed the sport I was supposed to be shopping for, or something.

Look at what Pearl Izumi offers for cycling balaclava, the Transfer one. That is the new version of what I have. Sounds like it would meet your needs.

If you haven't pledged on the new project, you need to repledge. The old one is dead and none of those pledges will be charged. Only 3 hours left! ;)

Done. Kept wanting to ask for the new link.

Also, anyone interested in a new author, my nephew is also selling his new fiction works (collection of Lovecraft- and Poe-like short stories), The Dark Verse, Vol 2 & 3 on Kickstarter as well.

I still find a great deal of irony in the fact that you complain about the cold all the time, and you live in FL. You have no idea what cold is.

It was ~32* today, I had a sweater on when I went outside.

And I wore two layers on the bike ride. Warmer here though, about 35.

Oh, I know cold!!!!!!.... I did my time in cold states.... there is a reason I live in FL!! I still remember when I was younger...waiting for the school bus to come and the snow was piled up almost as tall as I was!!! oh, I have seen the cold!!!

I can't help it that you are crazy enough to live in a frigid state!!!
