Not a lot on CT for this wine...only tasting note on their cab is from the 2004 "Cowboy Cuvee Estate Bottled", and the taster was not thrilled:
Palate is quite austere and chewy though. Didn't seem to mellow with air and was a little lean later.

No, that was me. I looked for "galante estate" in my CT search. Removing the "estate" expanded the selection.

I haven't been able to watch the woot-off as attentively as I would have liked...did I miss any Twisted Oak or Jacuzzi offerings? Those are now officially auto-buys from here on out!

I remember when woot used to offer good deals in the $8-$15 range.

Maybe this is the virgo in me, but how can a vineyard be "Founded" in three different years (1969, 1983, 1994?) From the description, seems to me it was founded in 1983 when they added a vineyard to their cattle ranch.

There was a Twisted Oak Petite Sirah on Friday for the PS woot.off - but nothing so far for this 3 day binge.

So, the CT info seems to think this wine is fading. Can anyone offer a drinking window estimate? The latest (early 2012) tasting note said "fruit fading"

Harsh, astringent and sweet. This country-style Cab has flavors of cherries, currants, and oak.

This wine was FANTASTIC 2 years ago...my last bottle was lacking some of that great fruit the earlier bottles had...also seemed to be some bottle variation. The tasting room in Carmel sells this at $18 a bottle if you buy 3 or more..so taking into account shipping costs from Carmel, this is a decent deal, but not great...

I agree. I picked up ths as a three pack earlier. Maybe it's just me. No great fruit, some heat and after decanting it really didn't open up. As an everyday wine it is ok but at this price point, pass.
