Yeah, well, I know. But, this is when we had our President's Week Break and we had to use up some Southwest Bonus Bucks from a previous trip and a friend of ours is working on his PhD there and was able to provide us with lodging. We arrived to dry pavement and no snow. At some point, we got about 5 - 6 inches of heavy snow. It was sooo pretty! They did a great job clearing away the snow.
We went to the Harley-Davidson Museum, which was pretty cool--and i'm not a biker chick! Also, we went to the Milwaukee Art Museum and got to see the Calatrava Wings open and close. Calatrava is a Spanish architect who has designed some really cool bridges and other things. We saw a collection of some rather modern artists. Interesting. Also interesting that many of them were institutionalized while they produced these works of art! Milwaukee has also done a fine job of renovations and reuse of the buildings along the shore and have made it into a really chic shopping area. The Lakefront Brewery tour was a lot of fun! They also make some nice brews! I wonder if those stainless steel tanks are the same ones that many of our winemakers use . . . ? We also went to a nice guitar concert. I think I've probably left out a few things. Maybe ddeuddeg will be able to fill them in.
We ate at a Thai restaurant and an Ethiopian restaurant. Really good food at both. Thursday night, after the Ethiopian restaurant, we headed to a wine bar just around the corner and had a flight of red wine and a platter of Wisconsin Cheese. There was an awesome Latino group playing at the wine bar.
What a fun time! Now, I need a vacation to recoup from the vacation!

I am a terrible person. This Unicef commercial with Alyssa Milano, who is smoking hot, makes me want to NEVER donate to UNICEF. Shes' really annoying, but hot.
Also, these commercials, tug no heart strings. The ASPCA one though, that makes me angry and want to open the checkbook.
