Top o' the morning!

Kids had a performance for school last night. It's soooooo cool to see them sing and dance around in German and English. I could also see how my youngest ends up getting time outs in that class. You put a bunch of 7yo boys together in a semicontrolled environment, and, yes, you're going to have some fooling around.

You also have a female cat. Not a huge, male tomcat who pees about a quart at a time, usually up agains the wall/corner of the litterbox. Automatic scoopers can't cope with that quantity or location.

That Y-chromasome makes a huge difference. Boys! Can't live with them...can't keep them from peeing on a wall.

I don't know...one of my cats does that same thing, and she's a tiny female. I think it's a matter of attitude, or tortitude in her case. Both cats tend to favor one corner of their favorite pink litterbox. Little monsters, I tell ya.

While we're complaining, may I ask if your staff is nice to patients? Ever since I moved to VA, staff at every last medical facility I've visited have been so horrible. The doctors are great, but the staff members are Katie Kaboomy and lazy. I tried to think of a reason why doctors would encourage or put up with that behavior, but I can't think of one.

Simple. HUGE NURSING SHORTAGE NATIONWIDE. They may be nice people, but they're chronically short staffed and busy as hell. I think it's particularly bad in your area of the world.

Weird, my nurses often say patients are really mean to them, often rude, and short. The same patient, otoh, is very nice to me.

If it didn't take 2 mos to get in to see me, I would have the late ones reschedule for next week. Usually, people do have a pretty good excuse for being late. They also tend to be very nice.

I don't understand why we just can't all be nice to one another. The world certainly would be better off for it...

More with Honey than Vinegar ... Far too many people use Vinegar it seems lately. Golden Rule seems to be fading out.

Vinegar gets results. One of the partners is the charmer in the office, charismatic, good natured, whatever but it doesn't always work. Then he'll start raising his voice and get argumentative and angry and the other side will start responding. People don't like being yelled at and will usually take the path of least resistance. Obviously this wouldn't work against someone like bowtie, who'd get vindictive, but most people :P

I wouldn't get vindictive. I'd be amused and openly mocking them.

Then later I'd get my revenge on that sumbitch!

This afternoon was the total opposite. Everyone showed up early, I was running earlier than normal. That usually never happens. Of course, now, the last patient of the day is late...lol

I have 2 cats - one male, one female. It's the female who's the problem in my house.

The lack of a Y chromasome makes such a difference. Girls! Et cetera, et cetera....

I don't think I've actually been dealing with nurses, just the folks at the front desk. It's incredibly frustrating to have to call for weeks on end, begging for test results or to find out if an item that had to be ordered has arrived so that you can proceed with scheduling the next appointment, etc. I spent no less than six weeks trying to get a phone call returned from one office before I gave up and went elsewhere. I've had lab work and preliminary office visits repeated at different doctors' offices more than one time for this very reason.

This last time, after two weeks of no return phone calls, I couldn't just go elsewhere because we'd already paid $$$ for my husband's dental restorations which we had not picked up yet, because they wouldn't tell us whether it had come in. We're talking a painful dental condition, and they can't be bothered. In the end, a conference call with the dentist's office and our insurance company seemed to help.

I spoke with a nice person at the oral surgeon's office this morning and I was so amazed and relieved that she was cordial, I felt like crying and I wanted to give her a hug. Clearly, I'm a little stressed.

Playing devil's advocate, we could do it in the main thread, but then those less venturesome won't mosey on over, for whatever reason. WE could post a notice in the main thread, then have them meet over here. We could start a new thread, and in the first post put a link to the thread over here. Or, start a new thread altogether. I know, great help, am I.

Tomorrow night I am hosting a tasting in my home and have about 12 people attending, half whom have participated in our barrel. We are doing red blends, and using the Crushpad Fusebox wine-blending kit as part of the fun. We will make sure to chime in over the course of the evening. I also have an acquaintance presenting Wine at Home wines. She is half way through her sommelier certificate, and is taking advantage of an opportunity to use her skills.

Over New Years rode to New Mexico and East AZ. Ate in an all vegan Mexican restaurant called POCO. Sigh I could eat here every day. We also took two full meals to go, packed on our bikes, for the ride back to our hotel, about 100 miles. What a treat.
