Glad to see someone else shares the same west coast hours... lol.

And yum, haven't been to Philippe's in a few years. I need to find a reason to head that direction some time soon.

It has been a few years for me now as well. Of course, I live in Chicagoland so getting there is a bit more challenging.

So (you know there's a story coming when I start with "So")...

So my coworker pops over asking if I have a spare mug available. I say, "As a matter of fact, I have quite a few. Which one would you like? Would you like the {company-branded} green one, or the {company-branded} white one, or the {former-contract-house} one, or the Domino's one, or the plain white one, or the Doctor Who one, or the snowflake one, or the clear one with a caffeine molecule on it?" She says, "The... Doctor Who one." My response: "An excellent choice. The Doctor Who one is awesome because as it warms up, the TARDIS disappears from this side and shows up on the other side, in space! Excellent choice!"

She gave me a funny look and walked away with the mug.

tweeeee I believe is the correct variant.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was massively subdued as Winter woke up, looked at the alarm clock, said OH Potty Emergency I'M LATE and proceeded to turn Omaha into a skating rink. Took 2 hours to get home. It was 62 the day before. I hate weather.

Did drink a half bottle of L&L PS from some offering. It's either on the downside or dormant. Good, but really no tannin to speak of.

Also, thanks to the magic of Facebook I got to learn a cousin died. That's a great thing to share a birthday with. I barely knew him, so I'm not feeling the loss too hard, but still, never fun to hear of a family member passing.

Sounds like your Cow-orker shouldn't have been offered the Doctor Who one to begin with. Since a fan would have been happy to find that out. She probably didn't even know about the Doctor.

Worse. The Monopoly app is only mildly annoying but the Scrabble app is a travesty of "design" on all counts.

Almost. it just takes over the phone when you pull it up, and takes forever to load, and makes an ad popup after every action that may or may not actually close when you tap the X to close it - often it will open the marketplace up to download whatever app they're advertising, which results in frustration at having to close market and get Scrabble back, which, by the way, causes it to fully reload Scrabble rather than bringing you back to where you were.

I've seen similar for cheaper on Amazon, although I can't remember the specific search terms now to find it.

I do like, however, how the winecruzer people are all like "We designed these because of the 5L FSA regulation, and you can take a 2-, 4-, or 6-bottle case safely checked."

The 5L regulation does not actually apply to wine (for those of us with Vegas coming up, reading that, and suddenly going Oh My Gookie! BUT MY CASE OF WINE!!!). From the TSA site (emphasis mine):

TSA wrote:You may take up to five liters of alcohol with alcohol content between 24% and 70% per person as checked luggage if it’s packaged in a sealable bottle or flask.

Alcoholic beverages with less than 24% alcohol content are not subject to hazardous materials regulations.

So unless we've got some seriously potent stuff, we're good
