I thought it would be a good idea, since I have a student who is autistic. Part 2 is tomorrow. It was definitely worth my time and gave me some new and fresh insights. I plan on sharing some of the handouts with my aide. Finished dinner and soon, I will have to get baking the Pan de los Muertos (Bread of the Dead) for my Life Skills Spanish class! I have a really nice sweet bread recipe that is a hit every time!

You are very close. Is this your son?

Seriously. I am really loving this class. I have realized that I must be hyper specific with them. I think this child reacts most when another student is in the room. There is a lot of intolerance from the second student, who thinks he has the right to call everyone else on their behaviors, when his behaviors are the ones that suck most. Unfortunately, he is sooooo low functioning that he feels he must overcompensate (and he's NOT the one who's autistic!) OK. Wasted enough time. Must go bake!

yep, that'd be my kid. Smartest person I know, math wizard. Even the math teacher's are amazed. When he's 21 we're taking down the casino.

zero awareness though. Its FASCINATING to watch. Also difficult for me since my first through ninth reactions are sarcasm. That doesn't work with him though, he always has to say, wait, is that sarcasm.

Messes me up. If there were enough in for 2 full cases so I could split it (one for east coast, one for west coast) I would, but as it stands, with 3 for CAGrl and the unspecified number for klez and sanity, assumption of 3 and 2 respectively (as of this writing) I will be at 15 bottles. I'm wavering getting one more for myself, pushing it to 16, but there's no way I see it getting to a full case apart from you westies.

My son shares most of the traits you mention but, funny how these things work, he's incompetent at math. Language skills? Off the charts. Read Moby D_ick in the summer between 1st and 2nd grades. In two days. Tested at "post-secondary" level when he was 8 years old. Has a vocabulary that would put Ph.D's to shame. But I fear that he'll never work at anything but menial jobs.

So let's recap where we stand, for my own sake.

Me - 2 TF bottles + 2 Graciano
HAK - 1
tenuki - 2
CAGrl - 3
klezman - 2/3
sanity - ??

Noted that if sanity can catch Jeff and get fixed up and klezman decides to go through her instead, I will happily keep the remaining two from the first case. If not, then I will likely get 3 bottles of Graciano to go with the overflow.

Does anyone know of any good headphones out there that would be similar quality to the Beats Studio by Dr. Dre - Hi-Def Noise-Canceling Over-Ear Headphones? My aunt wants to get one for her son for Xmas, and they've already checked this specific one out and it's the one she would have liked to have gotten. She had thought she had found a great half off sale deal on them, but it turned out that the site she had gone to was one of those counterfeit scam websites (luckily only causing the need for a charge decline & credit card cancelling, rather than an actual loss of money) so she's kinda bummed that she wasn't able to find them cheap enough.
So I thought I'd ask you guys (hopefully some of you have experience or knowledge of high end headphones) if there's anything that's of similar quality for much less cost.

Finally got into bed at 1:18 this morning after taking the bread out of the oven. They all came into my room asking if I baked the bread last night. Then, shouts of joy when I said that I had. Oh, the smiles on their faces after tasting the bread! They all wanted the recipe! Good thing I had copies made already! Carpe momentum! I made a second loaf for home.

Its funny because I'm purposely steering him toward engineering for that exact reason. Not saying that ALL engineers suffer a god complex and have no discernible social skills, but the ones I work directly with do. I love proving an engineer wrong; apoplectic may be the best term.

So, come to find out the eldest is failing a course right now. Apparently, he hasn't bothered turning in any homework. Which pisses me off triple because A) he knows he's gonna get caught and in a Monster A-Go Go (1965) ton of trouble B) his IEP specifically states that if he's missing homework the teacher is to contact the parent through phone or email since the child goes to GREAT lengths (including forgery) to not give us homework slips C) it's in LOOK BEHIND YOU!ing Geography! I have a LOOK BEHIND YOU!ing MASTERS in Geography and he's failing it. Oh children. I love them.

Obviously all video games and the television are disappearing from his room today and the controllers for the Wii and PS2 are coming to work with me.
