What is the expiration on my hoarding of this wine? I know for sure I am going to pop open the first one ASAP, but then I will jealously hoard the rest. I don't want to hoard til it is worthless by accident. Tips anyone?

Yes, quit hoarding and enjoy. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Clearly we have WD and his ilk to keep us tantalized with luscious offerings and suprises daily, and many times in a day during woot-off!

Anybody in SE WI want 2 or all 4 bottles?
For the price here of course.

I'm in Sheboygan,WI.
Hour north of Milwaukee and an hour south of
Green Bay.

Jumped too quickly on the deal.

Wooters that have attended woot gatherings in Vegas have had them; I think they were a hit. ;)

Any Dessert style port or zin I've used in the recipe has worked well. I also put the wine in the ganache I make for the frosting.

Actually, it does matter. Many of us have done experiments with different glasses. The consensus is that glasses absolutely make a difference.

Welp - time to add some port glasses to the collection! Was just going to do a pair of the Riedel ones that would match my other glasses. Anyone have any other lower cost suggestions that would work for this wine?

Hey michaepf -- I couldn't figure out how to shoot you a pm, so I'm doing this public reply to your message. I decided to wait to pull the trigger until after I returned home after a meeting today, and found the "Sold Out" sign. I'm interested in your offer, if it still stands.

You are correct on all accounts. Unfortunately, my bank account doesn't allow for too much splurging. Therefore, I have been justifying all my wine woots with the upcoming Christmas holliday.

I just served a dinner with some select pairings. I ran out of glasses and my uncle said it would be fine to serve in a paper cup. I just looked at him. Sheesh! I may not have every single type of glass, but I am not putting my hard earned wine in a paper cup!

It's nothing personal against wine, I just don't like the taste of alcohol in general. Its all the same to me and I just can't get over the alcohol taste, it's what I imagine drinking flavored rubbing alcohol would be like, they certainly smell the same.

Smallish champagne flutes should do the trick, or better yet riesling glasses. Small with a tapered top!
Caveat: I am not a wine glass snob nor do I drink much dessert wine. I will however confirm that wine tastes better out of an appropriate glass than it does from a keg cup!

I can't wait for buyer remorse to set in when 500 people realize when 12oz of wine for $11/each hits them. It's the same feeling you get when you are in Europe and you pay 3 Euros for a can of Diet Coke (about $4.20 US)

Each of you will have to go buy yourselves a 5 liter box of Zinfandel for $15 just to redeem yourselves. No-one sips sweet wine, it's like Lay's potatoes chips.

Yep, I said it and I meant it.

It's true, try as I might, I can't just have a small sip! I found the price reasonable though. I have a favorite sweet red that costs twice as much. If this is as good, I did myself a disservice only going in for one.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!! Can't believe I missed out on this! I saw it last night right as it posted, but I can't have wine delivered to my work anymore, and I couldn't remember my girlfriends work address. Had her send it to me this morning, but had a busy day and just now remembered that I needed to go buy some of Wine Woot's 5th year anniversary wine. Boohoo... Guess that will teach me to commit my girlfriends work address to memory! With any luck, maybe some of this will show up in the next woot off... Keeping fingers crossed!

73fixed - just sent you a PM.

If anyone else is looking to unload any of this near SE WI, I might be interested in more. I completely missed this deal since I was preoccupied with a Brewers playoff game today. If it wasn't for advancing to the NLCS I'd probably be pretty bummed for missing out. Thanks and go Brewers!

That's a good point, I just checked and my first purchase was Nicholson Ranch pinot in June '06. Not quite sure why October '11 is the 5 year anniversary. Unless it's the woot cellars anniversary, my first woot cellars purchase was Humbug in 11/07, but obviously that was not the first, I know at least Monkey Prize was before that.
