Alas, it is not to be this time around. mr sanity broke his bridge (no, TtheC's bridge will not do in a pinch!) we just received the estimate and since we do not have dental at this time, no extra trips for us right now!

I was really looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying cooler weather. Next time!

Thanks, secretwine for putting the event together, sounds like fun, and I'm sure everyone will have a great time.

Count me in as a strong maybe. I have been waiting for my weekend plans to firm up and they just did (mostly) one last thing to nail down and I'll have it to a definite. Summer red.... Hmm for me that tends to be tempranillo (call me strange) but I have 8 or so different Ones of those hanging around. Should be able to find something.

Tempranillo, a savory usually not hot summer wine, sounds great!

Can I add a +1?

I'm not sure if they're summer wines, but here's what I'll probably bring:

Planeta Cerasuolo di Vittoria (not sure which year, probably 2008)

SH's Inzinerator (I think 2007)

+1 added!

60% Nero d'Avola, 40% Frappato from Sicily's only DOCG - sounds interesting. Or a Scott Harvey Zin blend I haven't tasted in a while - both wines sound great! There'll likely be other Zins, so that's always fun to compare.

And two more just told me they're going to come as well! I think that makes me +5? Maybe +4 since the gf might end up not coming...working on it.

I'll probably have to bail around 9pm, though. Are we really going to take until 7pm to get back to the shop?

I'll put you down as +5 and tell the chef so he plans that much food.

hmm, if everyone's on time, we'll probably be done by 6pm. Some people will probably want to take advantage & buy either AugustWest, Sandler, or Roar wines directly from their source. Maybe I should update the projected time to 6:30 back at the shop... But if you have to leave by 9pm, I'm sure we'll have gotten all the bottles open & eaten dinner by then.

And many thanks you to our hosts, our chef, and to everyone that shared in today! It was a nice first wine.woot gathering experience.

Gelato, anyone?

It was fun to meet you all! Thanks everyone for making the 1st San Francisco woot gathering a success! Can you believe we tasted 14 different wines at August West winery, then came back to my shop and sampled probably 23 more wines? Russell was a great chef!

Also, someone left behind a jacket.

Excellent gathering, thank you for hosting! It was also great to have WD and Ali join us! Maybe I got a few friends to join the ww bandwagon too...we'll see

oops, just noticed this. Unfortunately I sent all the bottles home w/different people, so I didn't keep any of the bottles here.

Here's the link to August West wines, we tasted at the winery. Prices range from $20 for the Syrah to $44 for the single vineyard Pinot Noirs.
