I don't think there are any wooters left in the Tampa Bay market, but if there is I would be willing to do this same split.

Although I didn't miss out on the offering, I am very confused about the logic of offering a really great deal on the weekend instead of a weekday. When I see incredible deals like this, I'm pimping the hell out of wine.woot to my friends and coworkers, only to have them disappointed when they aren't able to buy.

I suppose it could be as simple as someone wanted the weekend off. I'm hoping there's a super secret surprise coming, but if not, I remain perplexed.

Can't understand the logic either behind an offer that usually lasts all weekend and one put out there that lasts a few hours. Why did this not show up during the week?

Some grad student should do a research project on enablement via a case study of WW.

I mean, we all are more encouraged to buy thanks to the commentary on these forums.

And we're all REALLY encouraged to buy when something starts selling like hotcakes and most people are "bought 3" or ">1 year" in the stats... right?

The bouncing button sure as heck got me to toss another $77 to our friendly Texans this morning!

I'm guessing that while they expected this to move fast, it moved a LOT faster than anticipated. Sometimes it's hard to tell. Maybe they figured that the extreme value would be balanced by the fact that 1/3 of the case was semi-mystery.

Plus look at the past! (I love looking up numbers) Last weekend's offer was a 1/2 case of Triacipedis and 1276 woots were sold over the course of the entire weekend (and I don't believe it sold out?) - so they sold 638 cases. Order pace: 3m 23.056s

Today, it was 949 woots of a full case, which meant they sold 949 *cases* in a few hours - almost a half again what was sold all of last weekend! That is a lot of wine. I could see the expectation that it would last until at least tomorrow. The order pace was: 0m 33.879s - that's CRAZY fast. Of course, it's a crazy great deal, but for the 3m for the woot cellars one was also faster than most. Three weekends ago they only moved 195 woots all weekend!

Carp...spent too much time thinking and considering the full order vs a split. Did anybody in the Bay Area actually get one and would be willing to split? I'd take non-equal portions if you want, too. I figured this would sell out, but not this early

2013: 33 bottles. Last wine.woot: Diamond Ridge Cab Franc. Last split: Scott Harvey Barbera
2012: 91 bottles, 2011: 92 bottles, 2010: 74 bottles, 2009: 30 bottles, 2008: 3 bottles My CT

I'm still around. Just was out in the vineyards for a bit. The vines were planted in 1998. So the 03 were younger vines at 5 years old and onwards, you can do the math. There is about 30% new oak on the wine. Around 10% of the oak is new American and 20% new french.

I have always wondered about this. When the truck comes to my house it is not refrigerated. So is this just en-route to my house then? Kind of makes sense but kind of doesn't.

I believe it is only a climate controlled truck between the FedEx hubs. When it is just on the delivery vehicle it is not climate controlled.

And the weekend before the offer was JanKris by the case and that was up all weekend and sold 710 cases. Nearly 1,000 cases seems pretty adequate for a weekend offering and it's not like it sold out in an hour. It's much more frustrating to miss Corison during a woot off because it's only up for 30 min. This lasted about 9 hours and it wasn't so expensive that it needs too much thought, just is this drinkable or wine or not and do I need more wine (of course I do). A quick look at the CT reviews seem to show that the wine is at least decent (unlike JanKris).

Another difference is the styrofoam 3-pack cartons that they use to insulate the vino as opposed to the usual pressed paper molds...in theory should help it to stay cooler longer when it finally does leave a climate controlled vehicle...

amtruchard wrote:Our wines have more fruit than the Gran Reservas because our wines only spend 11 months in barrels. The do not develop that tar, licorice, and anise that some of the Gran Rservas attain, but they do have that silky, yet thin acidity that holds the wine together for so many years.

I drink different wines every night. It keeps it interesting. I love old world. (Rhone and Loire are where it is at for me.) Ironically, I am on the fence about Spain, love the classic Riojas and Riberas, you can keep Priorat and the more modern style coming out these days. For domestic producers I like Flowers, Robert Sinskey, GunBun, Hendry, and the list could go on.

Thank you for that, a wonderful answer! Annoying too, as it means I'll like your wine.. This is the first that has sold out so quickly.. I missed it because I waited due to logistics!
