Is this the same stuff that was on WineShopper for $15??

EDIT: must not be the same, as the WineShopper BV Pinot had a $42 retail.

I'm chilling on Moon Mountain stuff...so far I've tried their 2007 Estate Grown Merlot and their 2006 Estate Cab Sauv Agua Caliente and found them to be just OK. I have another case or so of this stuff, I hope it gets better

Yes, the price was only ok. I enjoyed the MM Petit Verdot blend plus one of the Syrahs. Definitely decent for the price. Haven't cracked into the Cab or Merlot yet.

I tried several glasses poured from a decanter over a period of about five hours, so it had plenty of time to open up of it was just tight. I also didn't get the feeling it would improve with further cellar time. I have no idea where they come up with the $85 retail price? I have a few different bottles of MM cab, including a magnum of their cab reserve, hopefully they'll be better.

Yeah I saw the $85 and was confused. I thought that invino had retail listed at something around $45 on it, but who know.

Anyone that can help?

Crushpad pop-up shop on invino (similar to what they did with Moon Mountain). Looks like there's a few small wineries with offers. For those of you more adventurous, you can drop $9,799.99!! on a barrel of 2012 Six Acre Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. If my math is correct, that works out to roughly $33/bottle.

it's their non-vineyard wine. White label rather than black. That deal for the Ramal was ridiculously good!

When i see the word retail, I tell myself "that is what they wish they could sell it for".

Their Moon Mountain "Pop-up Shop" is gone now, replaced by Crushpad. Those with the money can go in on their own custom barrel of wine. I am positive I will do this some day...just have to save up for it $7k+, but it yeilds like 25 cases or something like that (around $25/bottle) and you can sell them also to get some of your money back or possibly make a profit.

They are selling some people's customs on the Pop-up shop along with deals on barrels. The Dry Creek Valley Zin has me quite interested, but alas, no monies for it.

CT Updating, please wait....

I'm tempted by the Quixote Panza 2003 Stag's Leap Cab up at WTSO for 24.99.

Wish someone would put up some Quixote PS.

I'm tempted as well. I have three bottles of 2005 Quixote Panza Cab from WTSO, and I haven't tried it yet, if I had and thought it was fantastic, I'd probably be all over this offer.

I'd really like to see them put up some more 2005 Coniglio Wines Spring Mountain District, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon!

I would have to say both. I just remember we went thru the list of potential wines and a majority we received were part of the and many others catagory listed.

Hopefully if you buy you get better luck. This years list looks more appealing.

I bought one of those packs based on the potential wines list. Unfortunately for me, I got 1 good one out of a bunch of wines that I don't want. I would not let invino choose wines for me again. Most of the wines in the packs are leftovers.

Yeah, I avoid these things. Invino is good, but I'd rather pay to get what I want cherry picking once in a while.

Anyone familiar with this Paraiso Syrah up there now? I went in for a couple since it sounds like there's a yum factor with some meaty Syrah upside to boot.

I got some Quixote PS from Lot18 on vouchers, and it's good. Not bitter or anything. But I've only tasted a finger-lick, as I dropped the 05 bottle from the top of a laddder in my wine store.
Ouch. Most expensive breakage ever.

anyone tried the Cab?

The Muddy Water cast S'Deal is a steal. IT's good, Oregonian-like PN. Good balance cool-weather Pinot Noir. I just drank the 04 at Christmas dinner (it was a bit past it, but still very good). For $12 a bottle it's outswtanding. Might be on a par with the Expression 07, or Macrostie.

See my CT notes on the 04.

Incidentally, I jsut tried the white-label Buena Vista PN (non-Ramal), and it is disappointing, though nice and zingy on the second day. Still good value for a tenner though! I'd buy the Muddy Water first though... you have 7 hours!

Also the Schug SB for $10 is godo deal. Not as ood as Wellington SB for $10, but very good.

That's the saddest story I've heard all week I once dropped a bottle moving some wine around but fortunately it was the 1001 Pinot which my subconscious may have just purposely dropped out of hatred.

yep. spot on. But if you like the cola, it's great, and gains some zing on the second day.

The Ramal vineyard stuff is in a different universe, and very good; but after a lot more PN tasting last year I realise it's definitely riper, darker flavours than rpm's allusions to Burgundy might have suggested to me, and it als has some of the RRV-style to it, tht darkness that Kent Rasmussen's 08 Esoterica PN has. These are new to me, and I suspect some people here can differentiate more of these darker PN flavours than can I. So... I think it's time to open a bottle of the 05.

You in LA or SF this week?

They appear to have some interesting bottles, like the current 2001 Guwertz, and a recipe for a pairing with each offering.

If anyone would want an invite, shoot me a PM.
