maybe there is no expiration date for the vouchers. in my "Lot18 Credit History", it says, "Expires on February 25, 2012" next to my referral credit. there is no such expiration language next to the vouchers. maybe the expiration date associated with buywithme, etc. is the deadline to load the voucher into a lot18 account?

Looks like Scott Harvey made it to invino, but their prices don't seem all that great compared to the occasional specials that they have. Anyone have any input?

The $10 shipping makes it a better deal, especially for the East Coast

You have to look at the two wines being offered. The 1896 Zin and the Jana Bordeax are not your average day drinking SH wines. I thought the prices looked reasonable for such good, and well rated, wines. I'm in for a couple of each.

Yes, the prices on these wines are great, especially when combined with the $10 mix/match shipping. I haven't tried the 1869 Zin yet, but I've enjoyed the Jana Cathedral in the past.

That is a great price for the 1869, I have been buying it from K@L for 29.99 and I can pick it up so no shipping.

And I had paid $40 (after tax) when I bought it on the rpm tour last year. Of the blind tasting thing we did last month out at Scott's, this one was my favorite of the group. I'm very tempted to get another couple at this price, plus tossing in a Cathedral to get the $10 shipping. I really enjoyed the Cathedral when we were out there as well, and I haven't yet bought any myself.
I could be wrong, but even when Scott does his occasional 50% (or other such big sales) sales, the price comes out a little higher after tacking on his shipping to NY. Can anyone confirm? If this price doesn't beat any others that might come up in the future, I can easily wait. It's not like I would be drinking either within the next year anyway.

Yes, this comes out cheaper. I've purchased both of these wines from the 50% off sale. Jana was 27.50 a bottle & 1869 was 22.50, but shipping was $30 for 6 bottles and tax added another $7 for the six bottles.

I don't disagree, but I can't help wondering why it's not on woot, at whatever price.
In any event, I've had both of these wines, and except for the SIWBMDTOWC, it would be easy to justify buying a few of each at this price, knowing they'll both be really good in another year or 2. As mentioned above, the shipping from CA to NY makes Scott's best offers not quite as good as this.

I know it's been mentioned enough times to get 1869 and Jana Cathedral on woot, but it may be that invino gave Scott and Jana a better deal. Or it's a precursor to an even better deal over here. I can only hope on the latter I know the idea has at least been mentioned to Jana. I don't remember past half-off sales that included that 1869, otherwise I'd have more than my two bottles remaining!

I got Cathedral for $27.50 half price but anyone not in CA won't get it for that with shipping. Buy this. It's dry, dark, yet elegantly delightful. I think it's his second best wine (after the Michigan Riesling).

1869 is by far his best Zin! Damn... tempted.

Also don't forget the Ursa PS for UNDER the wootprice of $15-ish assuming a flat price distribution.

In the "Persistence Pays Off" category, my emails to Lot 18 regarding their inability to ship to Tennessee revealed, in their words, "a pretty nasty bug" in their system. Contrary to their earlier listing of Stepping Stone, it is, in fact, available in TN. I will break my SIWBM for a few- Cornerstone Cellars being a favorite. I popped an earlier purchased (from Lot 18) bottle of Stepping Stone to celebrate and found it to be quite nice. With vouchers, this will be a very nice case of wine.

Hey, nice work! I've been thinking about using some of my credit on that SteppingStone as well, but I hate feeling like I need to buy 4 to get cheap shipping I've got my fingers crossed that they do free shipping sometime this week.

I was certainly pleased with the correction. More vouchers would be good. As to buying 4, often Woot offers are for that many, or more. If it's a good buy, I'm ok with it. I usually want one to drink and a few to cellar, though. Too often, they all go in the cellar. The Stepping Stone seems ready to drink and should cellar for a while, too.

The '08 Stepping stone I drank in January was off-kilter, seemed too full of oak and tannin (and I like both) and really rough. I noted that I want to hold mine for another year before I try them again

Indeed...I still have a LOT of Donati in my wine fridge. But the Tal Padre (PV blend), Cab Franc and Ezio (CS blend) all have me intrigued.

I think I'll have another case on the way...

Eff, just bought a wine fridge and I'm going to have to get another because the 2 I have are already full with homeless bottles laying around in cardboard boxes...

I said that to SWMBO too, there's a couple cellars on Craigslist and she said, "Do we really need one?!" I said, "Where is your heart woman?! We have tons of wine without HOMES!!! HOMELESS WINE!"

Luckily it worked! BAHAHA

Has anyone tried the Ezio?

I got their fantastic black Friday deal and am now down to 3 from an original 12 wines. Their stuff is fantastic QPR at the high discounts. Ezio for less than $15 shipped may be worth it. Their Cab, Claret and Merlot were tasty. I heard negative comments as to their syrah, can't get everything right all the time I guess.

It is $20 shipping for 4 or $28 for 8 or 12 to the east coast. That BF deal, if I recall, had the same $28 shipping, but it was $5 a bottle. Now its $11 a bottle plus shipping. Still good QPR if you cant get it locally.

The 2007 Calcareous Reserve Syrah is up at Lot18 at 25.99. This looks like a higher end syrah than what they offered on Woot. The Syrah that was on Woot seemed to be the best liked out of their three wine offering.

Not sure what this tastings.com website is, but here is their review:

88 Points
Opaque violet color. Bright aromas of mocha gelato, vanilla wafer, and raspberry sauce follow through on a soft, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with tart tangy berry skin and baking spice notes. Finishes with a very firm, drying, and cedary, powdery tannin fade. Classy oak frame and attractive fruit, give this a little time and it will really shine.
