we are hosting a wine party this month (pending surgery) and these will be on the menu now. I will try to get a variety of notes from all that attend.

Moon Mountiain - got 2 cabs, 2 PV/cab blends, 1 merlot. Throw in a free bottle of something or other and free shipping, and it's hard to complain about this deal.

Thanks to all the enablers hereabouts!

I started out on Burgundy but soon hit the harder stuff. Bob Dylan, Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues

How on earth did I get 7 QPs?

2 new wines up on Invino by Francis Coppola. an Alicante Bouschet and a Pinot Noir.

I know he loves wine, as many of us do, but has anyone ever tried anything that has come from his vines?

I see the Coppola wines everywhere, and just refuse to pull the trigger. I feel like I would be buying the name, not the wine, not to mention the fact that they are available everywhere is generally not a good sign.

And not to mention he's a dirt bag. Check gcdyersb's blog. He talks about it.

I've enjoyed a few bottles of Coppola Directors Cut (black label), and a few of the diamond labels at friends get togethers before. I think the diamond labels are more Tuesday type wines. It's a very good price for the Directors Cut Pinot.

I don't know anything about the diamond litigation, I'd need to see details on it to have an opinion.

I really want to pull the trigger on that Moon Mt mag!

Anyone notice it's the only reserve they offered? I thought it was interesting from the beginning that with the truckload of Moon Mt they're offering, that none of it was reserve wine until they put the mags up on Monday.

Also interesting that the listed msrp on the reserve mag is the same ($80) as the more expensive 06 single vineyard estate cab... You'd think it would be more expensive.

Magnums tend to be very low volume for small wineries, maybe making just a few cases used for special events and such.

They may have taken a WAG on the mag MSRP

I couldn't resist, I mean a magnum of Mt Veeder Cab Reserve (the only reserve offered), and from 2007, purported to be one of the best vintages in decades. That, plus the $10 off coupon, I caved

Hmm, that's hard to pass up. CT for the Sancerre shows good ratings right around 90 and an average cost of $14, but at a drinking window ending in 2011 and no tasting notes since 2010. This one might be past its time.

Can't find a good CT link for the Chateau Paradis. Several names under the same wine which are red blends.

I went in on this with no hesitation. $5 shipped, warm weather quaffers is a no-brainer. I love a good sancerre. Hell, I find a crappy sancerre better than most domestic whites. The wife loves Provence roses. While it's possible that the rose might be waning, I have faith that the sancerre will have plenty of life in it.

Worth the risk, and if they're not great, they will be drank by a few non-discriminating Easter guests, cooked with, or turned into sangria.

Woo!

Wow that's too good to pass up! Great summer drinkers (hopefully). They are a bit old for Sauvignon Blanc, but then again this is Loire Valley. Reviews were really good, but the last one is a year and half old.

I found this on the rose:

This French wine gem from the Coteaux d’Aix en Provence appellation is a custom cuvee from the brilliant enologist Philippe Cambie. It’s an unusual blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc.

Good detail at perriello fine wines for the Chateau Paradis Rose 2007.

I went in on 4 boxes worth. Yea between us and some friends this will get drunk down this summer easily.
