Not yet opened any of my Hunt stash. Any other suggestions or comments on what you may have sampled Chip, or others... Being in CA, I've not had much from NY to add to my tasting history, and could use suggestions. Open to all styles, but SO likes the sweeter side and there seem to be some here.

I've had the 2006 Ravenswood Teldeschi. I don't think I tried these Ridge's so I can't compare, but I've heard so many good things, I thought this could be a good opportunity to try them.

The Ridge table was packed at SF ZAP. I remember thinking their style was more elegant than most of the other producers I tried there, but I don't have any detailed notes. Mass tastings are definitely not my strong point.

I haven't had the Ravenswood so can't comment on that, but the '08 Geyserville is one of my all-time favorite wines. Unfortunately, I don't have any notes on it, as we were all too busy enjoying it, but I did write down "93-94!!!" in my notebook. If I hadn't blown my wine budget at Costco this weekend, I'd definitely pick up more.

Thanks, went in for one bottle of the Ridge Geyserville and one Ridge Lytton Springs. Free shipping, so not bad. They are difficult to find locally.

Sorry for the delayed response. The Hunter's Red and Foxy Lady Red are both sweet wines which are included in the sale and should appeal to your SO. The Foxy Lady Red is a Concord based wine so it's sweeter than the Hunter's and tastes like Welch's grape juice.

I like their Icewine a lot but at half the price, the Late Harvest Vignoles has a much better QPR and is at least as good if not better. Next to KR's Late Harvest Viognier, probably my favorite dessert wine.

I also like their regular Vignoles, extremely crisp, steely/flinty wine with bracing acidity (although I've only had the '09 vintage, haven't drank the '10 yet). The Cayuga White is a fun wine that is off-dry and very representative of the Finger Lakes. The Seyval Blanc is another good representation which falls somewhere between the semi-sweetness of the Cayuga and the minerality of the Vignoles.

I also picked up some of their Valvin Muscat, Semi-Dry Riesling, Ruby Port and Cream Sherry although I've never tried any of them before.

Quite a bargain if you like these types of wines, as I do. The free shipping on a mixed case really makes it a killer deal.

While I have developed an appreciation for many of the dry reds over the last year or two, I still enjoy whites and sweeter reds as well.

They have a new link that says it will run until the 6th. I don't know if it is the same they had earlier, or different stuff.

After going in for 2 of today's woot offer, I currently have 5 cases pending delivery. At least I practice what I preach!

Half of it is due to arrive in 7 separate FedEx packages on Friday. They're going to have to break out the dolly!

My mixed case from Hunt Country is also due to arrive Friday but via UPS. My wine racks already overfloweth so I guess these will help hold my pool table in place until I get some more racks.

CT scores look good, but I can't make heads or tails of whether I'd like this or not. Plus, I've spent way too much $$ in the past couple of days. I seem to recall that there was some kind of shipping fiasco when lot18 had this, so maybe some of you can get a second shot at it.

PMs sent out. For anyone else that's wondering, it looks like another woot/wtso/lastbottle/lastcallwines/etc type of site. Not sure if it changes daily or if things are kept up until they sell out. Seems like they're shooting for slightly higher-end wines, as they're really pushing their selection team:

"All of our wines are chosen, tasted and vetted by our expert wine tasting panel. The Vitis Wine Tasting Panel is comprised of two Masters of Wine and a WSET Diploma holder making it one of the most accomplished in the world!"

They do seem to have one unique feature: "Store your purchased wine in our temperature-controlled facility, build and manage your own online cellar, and ship it upon request." Not sure if there are charges or fees associated with that, though.

Found out about it on: http://www.forbes.com/sites/larryolmsted/2012/02/26/let-a-master-wine-expert-choose-your-bottle-at-a-steep-discount/

I found it interesting on the Moon Mountain cab that the nose was incredible, unfortunately it didn't carry over to the palate, else it would've been terrific. I tried several glasses poured from a decanter over a period of about five hours, so it had plenty of time to open up of it was just tight. I also didn't get the feeling it would improve with further cellar time. I have no idea where they come up with the $85 retail price? I have a few different bottles of MM cab, including a magnum of their cab reserve, hopefully they'll be better.
