for those of you who've received the goodies (mine are still enroute): are they chewy, as in soft chewy or 'knock dental filling out' chewy (ala' mary janes/milk duds)? it'd be nice to be 'prepared' before tasting begins.

Got my Two Boxes today. Stoopid FedEx driver (stoopid woot text filter. whatever) just dropped the box on the front porch nook directly in the sunlight, upside-frigging-down, and didn't even bother to knock or ring the doorbell. I didn't know they'd been delivered until I checked the tracking link which was a couple of hours after the delivery apparently. All the chocolates melted enough because of that so that the chocolate's tops got stuck to what would have normally been above the chocolates when right-side up. What a mess. Put them in the fridge for about an hour to cool em down then let them sit another hour on the counter to get them back to room temp. They're good... what's left of them that isn't glued to the wrappers, dividers, and box that is.

FedEx customer service is the suck and next time I see my route driver, who is particularly loathsome as I have lots of experience with his cavalier attitude and uncaring service despite two previous complaints on him to FedEx management who has apparently done nothing, I'm going to go off in his face... three inches from his hairy blackhead covered red bulbous nose. From leaving packages in muddy dirt under bushes to delivering two to three days later than tracking states, to supposedly 'losing' packages more than once (oops. sorry. contact the seller for a refund. here's the claim number. yada yada blah blah blah love, FedEx Mgmt), FedEx can kiss my hindquarters.

It sure would be great if we could have shipping CHOICES. I'd pay a little more for UPS Ground or USPS with FedEx out of the loop, and would definitely pay more for expedited shipping.

Bottom line... Screw FedEx!

/argh. so frustrated with lousy FedEx service

They are very soft chewy. No dental risks unless the dental work and/or teeth are about ready to fall out as it is.

Received mine today.

I licked at the salt before biting into a piece. Soft and slightly chewy.

Yummy!

Poor SilverStar, I am so sorry for your sucky FEDEX guy, as mine is great, but thanks for the laugh!

Caramels just arrived. Opened. Half frozen, in KY, so they are in pristine condition. Pop into mouth. Al dente firm, softening in the heat of my mouth, chocolate melting, caramel relaxing, salt combining, ohmygoodness, explosion of the tastebuds! Mmmm, mmmm, SO good. Not soft mushy, not remove a filling hard, but PERFECT.

I WILL DEFINITELY BUY THESE AGAIN! So worth it! This was an excellent deal and next time I will buy three of them!

Mine arrived in eastern Massachusetts this afternoon and sat for a couple of hours in my freezing-cold lobby (no notification, even though I've been here all day -- thanks for nothing, FedEx), so the first caramel out of the box was a tad underwhelming.

They are now at cool room temperature and boy howdy! These are GOOOD. Far down the filling-destroying scale from Mary Janes/Milk Duds, to answer gojets3's question, and coated with a fairly thick layer of chocolate that snaps satisfyingly when bitten. The fleur de sel is on both the top and (less emphatically) bottom, a perfect amount for setting off the sweetness of the caramel and the assertive flavor of the dark chocolate. The milk chocolate caramels, to my taste, are better with a bit of a chill on them, which I'm hoping to test later by trying them with Prosecco.

Excellent Woot! Thanks, Woot, and thanks, kipidoran.

FedEx just dropped off my box-o-caramels. The box feels a little cool, going to wait til it comes up to room temp. One thing I noticed - the box is labeled "28 oz." but what I ordered was 2 lbs. Mislabeled box? Or misstated offer?

Dude... wait, what?

***Shipping and packaging update***
All 60 piece chocolate caramel fleur de sel orders that were shipped in a two layer Candy Basket logo box do have 20 milk chocoloate and 40 dark chocolate pieces. Each piece weighs approx 15.5 grams. Due to the higher than expected volumes, +/1000 boxes had to be fulfilled with our logo box that had 28oz. preprinted on the front of the box. On the back of the box the nutritional label with ingredients does indeed state the correct weight of 32 oz. In our excited effort to offer everyone the chance to purchase at such a great value,we neglected to notice the preprinted weight. We are so sorry for the confusion that this may have caused, and we sincerely hope that you are all enjoying your caramels! Thank you for your understanding.

Just got mine this afternoon. They came in perfect condition. I'm both disappointed and thankful I didn't order 2 or 3 boxes. These things are super yummy. Gobbled two right away, put some in the freezer (I love frozen caramel) and the rest in the fridge.

Damn, I should've ordered more. Thank god I didn't.

EXACTLY, Moxie!I must have eaten a dozen of them and then didn't want any dinner. Felt like a little kid...these caramels are really dangerously delicious!

The caramel, the caramel,
oh, I LOVE the caramel!
I don't love my mom,
or my dad,
just the caramel!

Same here, largely. (I haven't ordered from them separately; I haven't run out of what I ordered yet). My only indication that anything went awry was the email with the coupon code. I'd happily buy from them again, and I'd much rather that LeCaramel return to wine.woot than more buckets of olives.

Wow, amazing eating, paulmd! I got mine today and ate one dark and one milk. Wonderful taste; I love the salt on them --- tastes just right and they have a soft but not gooey, messy texture,

Ooh, received mine today too! Thankfully I was given the box as soon as it arrived at my office & it felt a little cool to the touch. I'm saving it for Valentine's in my fridge, but with everyone's yummy descriptions... I don't know if I can hold out...

Got mine today. I am super happy with them. The layer of chocolate is thin, the sea salt are fine granules, and the caramel inside is soft and smooth, rich and buttery. They are delicious. I stuck a few in the refrigerator, in an air tight glass container to see if I like them better chilled since that is usually my preference in chocolates and especially sea salt caramels.

I weighted them out, approximately 13.5 grams each which is approximately 60 calories each. Not bad for such a decadent treat. One is plenty to satisfy my sweet tooth so this box is going to last me a long time.

I love these non wine woots.

My tracking didn't update till Monday or so; got mine today (after a non-attempt-delivery yesterday).

Deelicious! Worth every penny. Love the salty first bite or two, wish it was a little more salty as the last few bites are all sweet/caramelly.

GLAD I didn't order more than one though; at the price they are definitely a special treat, and probably wouldn't eat more than 4 or 5 a week so the one box should last 3-4 months.

Good news: tracking info updated. The chocolate has hit Chicago (I'm 30 miles outside).

Bad news: No chocolate today. FedEx just (rather jerk-ily) changed the estimated delivery date to tomorrow. What's the point in having one if you just change it?

Hope: Chocolate tomorrow. Would be grand.

These are delicious! As in, roll around on the floor making obscene noises delicious. I wish I had bought three boxes, but I'm limiting myself to 2 (or 4 or 5) a day to make them last.

When I first opened the package, the caramels were still cold from sitting on the porch all day in sub-freezing temps. The caramel was really chewy - on the order of a Sugar Daddy candy. But when they came to room temperature, they softened to a much more manageable consistency; not gooey at all.

The flavor is rich and buttery, and skates that exact line between perfect caramel and burnt sugar. The chocolate is creamy and just the right thickness, and the salt on the top and bottom make it like a candy-covered pretzel, without the pretzel. I prefer the contrast between the dark chocolate and the caramel, but the milk is yummy too.

I hope Woot offers these again; I will buy as much as possible!

Well, my wife won't get to enjoy these for "buy me something and you can have sex" Day, still not been delivered to my office, and I am leaving town for a week.

I guess I can give them to her a week later and grovel for some, oh wait thats every week.

Came today just in time, as they were a Valentine's for the husband. Unfortunately for him, I LOVE them and can't stay out of the dark chocolate ones. I don't even like caramel that much, but these are fantastic. Love the salt, the consistency of the caramel, and the creamy dark chocolate. MMMMMMMM!!!

These are the most amazing caramels I've ever tasted. I wished I'd bought two boxes now since I gave the one I ordered as a gift. He shared, but I can't keep from thinking that I could have had a whole box to myself. Man, that little bit of salt on the top of each caramel is just perfect.
