In my tracking results, it states: "Hold at FedEx Location service is not available for this shipment." It originally indicated delivery for tomorrow (Friday), but that's been removed. I don't have a clue, and not sure they do either.

I have the same tracking results with my order, I've never seen that on any of my wine purchases before-or any Fedex orders for that matter. We'll see what happens. As long as its not cooking in a warehouse or a truck I'm not sweating it.

Mine says the same too for this and for the Pedemonte. I am assuming it is due to the heat wave about to hit Southern California and means they are holding to ship when cooler or when a cool truck is ready.

Not worried about a delay in shipping, just worried about drinking enough wine to make room for the new stuff. Oh, the woes of having to drink too much good wine, but I will suffer through it.

Same here. I'm really excited to try my first Caton, but also have no idea where I'll put the seven other bottles once I'm done with the first.

I have the same situtation here. I called Fedex and they told me that they had received the shipping label but not the actual product... weird? Fedex also told not to worry about the "old at FedEx Location service is not available for this shipment" part, that this statement was not showing in their system and the lady I was talking to did not know why it was showing up on the tracking web site.

Ok Wine.Woot, it is time to join the Amazon fulfillment team and promptly notify your customers on the status of their order(s). A five day "FedEx hold" with no further information is unacceptable.

Maybe they decided to hold the shipments because of high temperatures. It's been scorching in SoCal the past few days. I'm in no hurry, just wondering what was going on.

This is my first purchase since they started using fedex, but with UPS this would happen all the time- basically they've let fedex know they've got XX amount of boxes and where they're going, but packages have not been picked up yet- still sitting w/ Woot.

The extra shipping charge on this order was suppose to cover refrigerated shipping. If so, no need to sit at Woot.

Mine still gives only the "Shipment information sent to FedEx" message dated 9/21.

Still says it's scheduled for delivery today, too!

Yeah- don't know if it's sitting @ woot due to weather or if they're just a bit behind- this site's (wine at least) always been on the slow end of getting shipments out.

Just chipping in, I'm in Sac, CA.

As of right now (9/27), I have an estimated shipping date of 9/21. The latest activity is "Shipment information sent to FedEx", dated 9/21 at 7:35pm.

Hm.

I had a shipping date indicated as well and after waiting around all day for the delivery, when I checked again at 5:00 pm, the date had been removed and no new date has since been posted. One thing I liked about UPS is that they would leave a voice message the day before the delivery so I could make arrangements accordingly. Their truck also would come around the same time everyday. Fed-Ex has never been consistent with their time of delivery. Does anyone else get an advance notice from Fed-Ex?

California Folks,

This is de rigeur when the forecast calls for high temps. High 90s for the valley in Fall is abnormal, so I'm glad that wine.woot is holding off on delivery.

It will get to you when the temps start declining. FedEx Summer shipping only means that refrigerated trucks are used hub-to-hub. They still use the regular vans to deliver to you.

Nice to know I'm not alone.

Mine shows that it is to be delivered today, but it also doesn't show any information that they actually have my bottles--just that they have been alerted.

I'm in the same boat (in NY). Supposed to be delivered today but since there's no update since 09/21 I won't be holding my breath.

On the East Coast and have the same 'Expected Delivery' = Today, but, not even showing picked up yet.
Don't like to complain (the WW shipping is such a good deal), but I thought the extra charge for summer shipping included ice packs that would allow safe dispatch even if it is hot.
I certainly prefer getting my wine in good shape (even if delayed). But this is confusing and no updates from WW is a bit frustrating.
I think I need a drink ...
Preferably a nice red field blend ...

This can't be the reason. Mine is now in transit to So Cal, and we are having very hot weather.

This was normal with the Summer Shipping program for East Coast shipments with UPS. Then non-FedEx "Reefer Truck" would do the cross-country stint after the boxes had been packed & labeled in California. The tracking status would only update once the Reefer Truck hit the distribution point on the East Coast and FedEx took ownership of the packages.

I'm showing the same thing as everyone else on my order, but my assumption is that my wine has been en route since last week and should be here in the next day or two. I'm not sure what's up with CA shipments, but I'll see if I can get an update.

FedEx Ground (formerly RPS) in particular is horrible, in my experience. I cringed once I realized this was going out using FedEx Ground, versus regular FedEx (I can understand considering the weight, though). I've never had a shipment with them go smoothly, even though regular FedEx is great.

Earlier today, FedEx Ground claimed a delivery attempt with "Customer not available or business closed." Not especially amusing since I was here when they reported back to their distribution center that they tried to deliver, and they did not leave a note.

[I had a flashback to when they claimed they had successfully delivered an expensive server system to me a few years back, when in reality they delivered to a someone else at a different company in a different building on a different floor. Seriously, there was no way any normal person would have confused the two addresses and companies; there were no common elements to the names & numbers.]

What's particularly bad about FedEx Ground is their IT infrastructure, as HQ as no way of communicating with the driver while they are out.

So now my wine will have spent all day in a truck. Considering it's close to 100 degrees outside, I have a bad feeling about this...

Fabulous. I've learned to have summer-shipped wines held for me to pick up...but w.w. usually sends UPS.

Hence, I had the UPS center as my ship-to address.

I've requested that FedEx deliver it to a nearby facility, but who knows how many days it will take them to figure it out? I would have left it UPS, but I don't think FedEx will deliver there, especially since someone would have to sign for it.

:sigh: I'm just a teacher who wants some good wine. Is that so wrong?

and hope the wine is doing the same

Mine is out for delivery in SoCal. The odd thing is the tracking shows it was picked up Monday in Sacramento rather than the usual Windsor/Sonoma County location, and then arriving at Sacramento FedEx at 12:20 am on the 28th. I wonder when/where they put in the frozen gel packets I paid for.

It was probably taken to the Sacramento hub via refrig. truck. I haven't seen the packets this year in any of my orders. I don't think they help much.

Hi y'all.

The east coast and midwest packages have made their refrigerated run and are expected to deliver no later than Friday. The west coase packgages were held and shipped Monday and should be arriving as i write.

Weather absolutely plays a roll in the overall transit times during this time of year.

i have every confidence the wine will arrive in good working order (with added aging !).

thanks for your patience.

Mine was picked up in Kansas City, MO yesterday and scheduled for delivery on Friday. I hope my wine is enjoying its tour of the country.

So I just found out from the FedEX site that there was another delivery exception today. As of this morning, it was indicated as out for delivery, but about an hour ago the FedEx site showed a delivery exception, with "future delivery requested." That was a bit of a WTH moment, as I didn't call to delay delivery.

Turns out one Cynthia Pang is the one who called, but FedEx doesn't know who she is.

If it's someone from Woot, the winery, or the wine distribution company, it would have been nice to let me know ahead of time that they were deciding to reschedule. It's Customer Service 101.

This is getting extremely frustrating...

Arrived today; I was successful in getting the delivery destination switched to a local FedEx/Kinko's store.

Came home and attempted to fit it into my wine fridge.

In the process, one of the three bottles my mom gave me to store for her (her one and only w.w. purchase thus far, I think) rolled out. It hit the floor and smashed on the bounce.

It was the 2006 Scott Harvey Syrah. :sob:

I was headed over to their house in a bit, anyway. Now I have to tell her. And I don't have one with which to replace it. :'''(

(It smelled DELICIOUS, by the way.... :sigh: )

"Y'all" is, indeed, plural.

"All y'all" is what I think of as an excessive plural--if you just want the people at your table you'd say y'all. If you want everyone in the room, you'd say all y'all.

Like that.
