Yes. I bought a bag last time in Sonoma, at Dry Creek Vineyard I think. Captain Dave's smokin staves. It was like $5.

Don't know about use in a smoker but Bill from Scott Harvey used broken oak barrels for our outdoor fire at the No Cal gathering and it smelled awesome. Later on we ran out and we switched to broken pallets and that was a mistake. That's when we got over-smoked and watery eyed. But we kept on drinking and adding broken pallets to the fire just the same.

I haven't, but I tend to smoke things like turkeys (mind outta the gutter people, thx) and want something a little less pungent.

I bet it would be mean to grill a steak over though...

Hmm, wonder if I should finally cave in and get some of the Pistacios this time around. I keep considering it as I do enjoy Pistacios. Are these really any much different than those that can be bought at Costco? As my mom buys and shares some of those occasionally.

They're good pistachios, but unless you want 4lbs at once, I'd just buy them locally. You won't pay much more locally. You might pay less.

Well even with all the server errors, they processed the orders. And I just got multiple confirmations. I immediately sent a message to cancel the excess orders.

Well I was trying to avoid purchasing for this woot.off and darn if Little didn't send me over the edge. Coincidentally, I've been drinking his 2003 Syrah over the last week. Perfect thing for a chilly winter's night.

In other related news, our passport stuff went in today. What a long ordeal this has been. Can't wait for the cruise now. Woot!

So why did WD actually *listen* to us and give us an honest to goodness wine.wootoff? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to have to put the credit cards in the freezer. (Except that won't really help. Because I have PayPal. And I have my security numbers memorized.)

Indeed. I should not have caved on the darn Little, since we just rebooked the Denali portion of the cruise. However, I did pass on the Ty last night. So that makes up for the Little, right? Right?

There are some wines that passing on would lead to months of regret.

And an Alaskan cruise? This time I hear about your experience and follow you. Been planning to do that since the 20th anniversary, and thirty is just 20 months away.
