BTW, which one of you can breathe your wine the best? I would say this would trump it all for this website.
Dude. You so know I am second only to you in the wine-breathing department.

Madwine is mistaken. You are doing a great job. However, since you asked - talk to me about the challenges and benefits of your specific terrior, s'il vous plait.

all I can say is that is why I chose to make wine in the paso robles ava. Terrior. i wanted to make very expressive wines with bold flavors that where very distinctive of the local. Paso wines are bold and distinctive.
I love terrior.
Thank you! I appreciate hearing from a winemaker who sees the inherent strengths in even a potentially difficult terroir.

Have a nice night, you two.

Some (maybe most?) of y'all will remember me!
So I'm back, although not finished with the hassles of moving.
And I have the money to buy two of these, but not in a way that I can buy it! If someone would gift it to me, I'll mail you the money the following day!
Please please? I'm running low enough on decent reds to be considering buying a case of NC wine, which is usually way too Scuppernong-ish for me....

Oh, and I do remember I owe money to a kind soul who bought me some Ty way back when when I was just about to start the odyssey of moving.
If you would pmail your name and address and the amount I owe you, it will finally go out! Promise!

I wanted to do this yesterday in time to be eligible to rat this, but yesterday was the day from Hell at work.
Madison Cellars is one of those "must buys" for me; at this price, how can you NOT buy this?

[quote postid="3304889" user="madwinemaker"]Most syrah is lacking on the noise, viognier is added in small qtys to brighten the noise in a syrah based red. The problem is that you need to be careful not to add too much. 4% max is normal. I like to make it almost unnoticeable unless of course I tell you.
Good Morning!
Hate to open an old thread, and I don't know if our madwinemaker will re-appear this morning but I awoke in the middle of the night last night and my mind wandered onto an old tale told to me by a good friend and wine shop owner.
He had many a great tasting at his shop in Palm Harbor Fl., and I remembered his tale of a syrah, can't remember the name (sorry), and this syrah had a low % of viognier in it...his explanation, which I suppose came from research, was that the viognier, although a white wine grape, actually darkened the red wine! I'm not sure if this is true, and I'd love to hear some comments, but the syrah we were tasting was extremely dark. Almost inky.
He always got a bunch of "oohs" & "ahhs" with that tale of the white wine deeply darkening a red.
Anyone have a knowledge of this?

The Uberwootbot told me the same...said I'd have to open a new account...new e-mail. Decided I didn't have the time (which I probably do). If you find out different...let me know.

I received this reply through service@woot...
Unfortunately, we are unable to add to an order during a sale. You will likely have to place a separate order using another account. The new account will need to have a different email address and credit card. Once the new order has been established, please email us to cancel the first order.

Not that I would be ratted anyway, but it definitely would take me out of the time requirement. I wanted more wine, but it did not seem worth the risk.

Also on the Lupine Hill offering in March

Yeah, I know...don't know what is up...just wanted 2 ILO 1?!

EDIT: cj beat me to it cuz work distracted me.
I guess I'll do that, and send it to my wife's work...but I'll never see it. Sneaky woman, but I love her.

The best is the email to up the order, since you don't get dinged another $7.
That's what I tried and they said, "nope".
