Anybody interested? I'm in Portland, but could be convinced to drive elsewhere. There certainly are many vineyards out here... and I'm curious if any Wine.Wooters might want to have a get-to-gether.

Cheers!

I'll cross-post from the current week's offering, so my reply doesn't get lost...

At this point, my wife and I are planning to be in the Portland area during the last weekend in July, barring conflicts with her new job. If some locals were to set up a tasting for, say, Friday evening we should be able to attend. Especially if it were held in the southern portion of the greater Portland metropolitan area, around Tualatin, for example.

Another option would be a tasting somewhere in the southern Chehalem Mountains AVA or the Dundee Hill AVA, since we're going to be at Champoeg State Park for the weekend.

Bumping for Oregon Wineaux!

Someone has to put WD's kids thru college, but why does it have to be me!

Hey Hey..

Sounds like we should do something!
The only days I can't do it during October are Oct 8-10
Sorry Grammie.

Can we all suggest some possible dates?

edthebedhead

quality posts: 4 Private Messages edthebedhead

I've emailed or PM'ed folks... Lets find a place and time to meet up!

Suggestions? October? November?

I prefer Nov as it gives me more time to plan and to convince the bf we need to go to Portland.

Another "down in Eugene" - does that make me "down" in Eugene. or just geographically South? Eiher way, if it involves wine tasing, I'm in!

Fellow PDXer here, would be interested in meeting up sometime. Also, have you guys heard of the NW Food and Wine Festival? It will be November 15th at the Memorial, and the lineup looks good; http://www.nwfoodandwinefestival.com/nwlisting07.html

They have a special corporate discount where you get 4 free tickets when you buy 10. That would bring the price down from $75 to $54. Anyone interested in going and trying to get the discount?

Hmm, a more cost-effective weekend getaway than the Vegas trip?

For November, I will be out of the state from Nov 12 until after thanksgiving. So, for me, the best weekend in November would be Nov 1st or 8th

I (and possibly the wife if she doesn't have class or a ton of homework) am interested! SW Portland is my location, so no problem having it here or south towards Dundee or anything like that. My mother hates the internet but loves wine, so she would probably be interested in going to something as well! bhinely@gmail.com ... let me know! I am interested in the wine festival as well!

Grammie here! Is this gig still on? When? I don't have any trips planned until Xmas, but could be persuaded to wander down I-5 for a taste...or two! (SW PDX works best for me, too.)

Oh, and if anyone in Seattle or environs wants to ride with me, the more the merrier!

Hi I'm new to Portland and I love both woot and wine! I would love to attend a gathering - no preference as to when as long as its not Thanksgiving weekend.

Dec ???

11/15 is the SoCal Vegas gig and 11/22 is my Festive wines in Seattle (all PDXers very welcome to join us!) December gets crazy with "stuff" so maybe a post-holiday get-together would be fun.

i am over in Vancouver, WA so can make it to Portland anytime but I am going to have to wait until next Spring. *sigh* So I will keep an eye on this thread and see what is going on. Been a long year and have no weekends free for a few months. But I can't wait to get to meet other wine Wooter's living nearby. Just Pm me anytime to just chat or whatever.

Got my ticket for this weekends food and wine fest, anyone else attending? Also, a local shop, Liner and Elsen, will be hosting a pretty cool looking German Riesling tasting and seminar next Tuesday the 18th at 6:30 sharp. Its only 20 bones and will include 5 flights of wine (12 wines total). Check out their website if interested, linerandelsen.com. Awesome local shop with lots of tasting opportunities.

This shop looks really wonderful. Funny, it's so close to where I had my first apartment, back in the cavegirl days. Next time I'm in PDX, I'll have to visit it.

BTW Ms Bedhead, any ideas when the Portland tasting will be? And any PDXers coming to Grammie's Festive Wines?

Since I'm swamped until after Christmas this year I am thinking about next year. Has anyone done the Southern Willamette Valley Wineries Driving Tour ? Say it's a 3 dayer. Maybe we can plan on a bunch of us getting together next year and doing this. Or is there a better one to be done. I have not done any of them.

Looks Like January it is. I got a bit busy this month, and December might be busy with all of the Holidays and Emergency Holiday Provisions.

Lets aim for early '09!! Maybe WD will have a trip up to the area and be able to stop by....

If you did a Chardonnay tasting, my mother would be all over it. Just think, Grammie and Great-Grammie! That's enough to scare away all the wooters!
