This is getting quite annoying. I find myself starting to drink more wine just as I can't afford to. I suppose there isn't a good solution to this problem other than to just give in quick, eh?
I'm going to have to check, I remember seeing a Stomp! Wine at a local store. Maybe I'll have to buy a bottle of that to try/spend more money on to try to resist buying in soon.
Curious thought: Did the same winemaker make all three of these? That would be interesting... Looking forward to seeing/hearing from them! Well, most likely hearing, not seeing, but you know what I mean.
And I wonder how the Cabernet Sauvignon compares to the Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon? I tasted a 2004 recently, but there was just no body to it. I really hated it, and am looking to try something with bigger flavor, and I have no problem with an oak monster. Thoughts/suggestions? Would I be better off trying a Merlot for the flavor I'm looking for?
Informal Poll(though certainly offtopic): What is the Cabernet Sauvignon you most characterize as an oak monster, and how much did you like it?
Not too many to count, but dang. This place has a way of building a cellar for you.

Welcome fellow Nebraskan, post more. I didn't realize we weren't listed. I can only think of two other times this has happened, and one of those was Sake. Guess that means I'm out until Thursday.

I need to work much harder at this to be taken seriously. Loweeel, please correct my spelling if need be.) have contributed a great deal to this community. I would also be inclined to say, "Aw, come on, UB, be nice. He just answered your q and everything," but I'm genuinely working on not telling everyone in America how to behave. And I assume, UB, that you are in America. So, I won't say that. I will instead repeat with even greater enthusiasm, "Hey, TMR; heartiest congrats!” and add “we’re glad you are here at wine.woot, dude. Happy to witness you hit 1K!”
Richc7, if I recall correctly, there is a Sonoma local who plays rugby (soccer?) who gets personal deliveries by "Fid, just Fid" who has la bratted twice. C has as well.
Okay, from now on Ublink is UB and uglybastard is UB2. It just helps me keep stuff straight. We can also refer to uglybastard as urinal boy, because that would be UB and he almost killed me in his labrat report when he discussed the urinal at the brazilian place.

cbraunel wrote:Hey everyone! Corey here from Dusted Valley. My brother-in-law and co-winemaker pal Chad are happy to be Wooting this week. I'll start out by telling you a little about DV, BT, and STOMP and Chad will follow-up by starting to answer some Quest. We are all original WI Cheeseheads that moved West to start our winery in 2003. Dusted Valley is our high-end with total production around 4,500 cases per year. We'll be telling you more about the connection of STOMP! to Boomtown. But I'll start out by saying that the goal is to have these wines drink with a quality/value that is comparable to a higher price tier... Sound to good to be true? Have fun. Chad and I are really looking forward to having some fun with this. Good questions/comments already!
Corey, welcome. provided I was able to get these wines in my state, how would you characterize the Merlot. I find most merlots to be, well, bland and boring. There are some notable exceptions though so I know when Merlot is good, it's really good. Are you wines meant for food or sipping? I like both, but I like to know ahead of time.
Also, what does the Malbec impart to the Merlot? I don't think I've ever seen it blended with merlot before, though honestly I don't generally look.

It's not like I clean them or fish out cigarette butts and chewing gum. But those are really the most awesome urinals I have ever seen.
Of course you can call me whatever you want. Too many rules as it is.
If it's too hard to type ugly bastard, perhaps just ugly, or the bastard.
Of course you can call me whatever you want.
i shall refer to you as admirer of well crafted porcelain, and should this prove to long I will refer to you as uglybastard. Though I gotta say, when I call you that I feel like a jerk. Seeing as how I am a jerk though I suppose it's okay.
