My favorite type I've tasted thus far is cultured Normandy butter, in a can, with salt added for preservation. Cultured butter is the norm in Europe, it adds flavor without the need for salt, as we do it in the States. Also, Normandy butter is made from grass-pastured cows, and the butter is supposed to pick up the sea mineral flavors that the milk gets from the grass that grows in that region.
