Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

It's either the wrong time, the wrong day, or I get notified just before it
is supposed to be and cannot get there.

I'm fortunate enough to have a locally owned wineshop that hosts a wine/beer tasting every Saturday. $5 to taste four wines and/or five beers. 3oz pours of each, too. Been going for about 3 years, now almost weekly.

I am part of a group that rotates tastings in our homes. We usually do around 6-8 a year, so everyone is in the barrel once per. Add in a couple of store tastings and a charity event or two, and it makes it to double digits for me.

I used to have a wine shop right across the street from my place of work, we would taste 2-3 times per week. They closed shop though, but with trips to Oregon and Napa, I usually get 6+ tastings a year fairly easily.

There's a chapter of ZAP in town that meets monthly and several wine shops that hold tastings on various days of the week.

We belong to six wine clubs and often visit for tastings and to pick up our shipments. Our local grocery store offers free wine tastings every weekend on two or four featured wines. Then monthly, our local liquor store chain hosts a wine tasting to taste 20 different wines, cheeses, hot sauce and oils. I'm a double digit taster as well.

With a new granbaby in the Bay Area, we're fortunate to be able to make 5 or 6 trips a year (from TX) to the Penninsula to visit him. Coincidentally, there just happens to be a winery or two within a two hour drive ~~ wink, wink ~~ so we might have to go to one or two, just to make sure everyone's still making good juice ....

Next trip, first week of March ~~ I'm already plotting our route thru RRV & the Sonoma Coast. Yay! Cheers!

"We hear of the conversion of water into wine at the marriage in Cana as of a miracle. But this conversion is, through the goodness of God, made every day before our eyes. Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes, to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy." Benjamin Franklin
