I'm willing to meet all y'all in Fullerton. I'm also open to a stop at Pechanga before heading home. As long as I'm back before Sunday, I'm good.

If everyone is up for meeting at my house then that's cool. I'm only about a mile off of the 91 (Euclid exit) so we'll be able to get cooking pretty quickly. I'll PM each of you my addy. How's 9:30am for a meeting time sound?

I think Nallie already has dibs (she started the get-together AND arranged for the van) on shotgun, if she wants it. OR, does she want to sit next to Reinfield (heh, heh, heh)

Thanks for looking out for me, mds, but I'm not really the author of this event, just the annoying little dog that kept nipping at everyone's heels until it came together. It might be the van is reconfigured to be a bench for 3 facing a bench for 3 and shotgun may not exist. If it's the traditional van seating, maybe we can flip for it or something. Although I do believe formal protocol dictates the front passenger seat goes to the first one to yell 'Shotgun'. Nicely played, Java.

So, about the wannabe woot red - it's all gone. No other mystery bottles have been delivered to casa Nallie or Nallie's ups box so far. I know Clayfu is bringing bottles, and we'll be sipping at wineries all day, and we do need to avoid letting blood alcohol levels get to toxic levels, so maybe it's for the best. Just to ensure no one goes home thirsty, though, I'll bring either a magnum of the Mumm brut prestige or the Polyphemus. You guys pick which one.

Although it may not matter in this case, my recollection is that formal protocol dictates the front passenger seat goes to the first one to yell "Shotgun" within sight of the vehicle. ;-)

Girlfriend, I can already tell we are going to have some serious fun on Saturday.

Do you think the fine people of Temecula will be alarmed when they see 6 people bursting out of the local Inn simultaneously screaming shotgun, though? ;-p

i just want to let you know i play the Shotgun game for all intents and purposes like a pro.

A shotgun can be openly challenged with a drop of the pants. If the original shotgun caller wants to call it they can also drop their pants and its a race to the car for shotgun.

It really livens up shotgun.

First, please let me firmly and explicitly say, for the benefit of any past or present family members who may be reading this thread (and/or their representing attorneys), that I will in no way be involved in the trou dropping, bare butt running, squawking like a condor portion of the day tomorrow. During the trou dropping, bare butt running, squawking like a condor portion of the day, I will be at the very least averting my eyes and doing my best to look like I am with another party entirely. And although I am delighted that Joel will be frequenting our fair city, I do not stand to profit in any way whatsoever from his new seminar schedule. My involvement in the Cradle Robbing series has been strictly that of a friendly volunteer.

Ok, now that that is out of the way... We got a package!!! It is not a bottle, so I'll be bring the Poly and maybe I'll grab the Mumms, too, because we all know how well champ- ...er, sparkling wine goes with chocolate truffles. TWO boxes.

If the blood alcohol level of the day doesn't kill us, surely the sugar comma will.

And just to remind everyone of the times and addresses for tomorrow's events (for those who want to join in later), all times are approximate. I adjusted to have Stuart last, since it's closer to Temecula Creek Inn, and gave us a little more time at Car'rie and La Cereza at lunchtime:

TEMECULA CREEK INN (11:00 Shotgun Start, Pants & Attorneys Optional)
44501 Rainbow Canyon Rd
Temecula, CA 92592
(760) 728-9100
Van pickup starts at 11:00, ends at 4:00 pm

11:20 - Hart Winery
41300 Avenida Biona (off Rancho California Rd.)

12:15 - Maurice Car'rie Winery / La Cereza (Sister Winery)
34225 Rancho California Rd.
(Lunch)

1:45 - Ponte Family Estate Winery (Farthest away)
35053 Rancho California Rd.

2:30 - Wiens Family Cellars
35055 Via Del Ponte (off Rancho California Rd.)

3:15 - Stuart Cellars (closer to get back to TCI)
33515 Rancho California Rd.

4:00 - Van turns back into pumpkin at Temecula Creek Inn

4:00 to ????
- Additional tasting of Woot wines (Nallie & Clayfu providing?)
- Bella Vista Winery open until 6
- Dinner (Takeout or ????)
- Casino Visit ?? (may not have $$$ left after winery visits)
- Carpoolers return to OC, wiser but penniless from buying out wineries

Hope this helps and meets everyone's approval.

It's a good thing that...
1. I've been to many "offline" gatherings of various Web site communities;
2. I'm not easily scared away; and
3. you'd have to be eligible for AARP membership to be "robbing the cradle" with me.

Otherwise, right now I'd be changing my IP address and screen name and installing a couple extra deadbolts on my front door. You guys are even stranger than the sci fi geeks I meet up with...and that's pretty darn strange.

At the very 1st winery, Danncer gave an impromtu operatic rendition of Happy Birthday to another party.

At the 2nd winery, no Deli! We had to steal bites of Clayfu's Baked Brix Sourdough loaf. 10,000 calories a bite!

At the 3rd winery, the wait for the restuarant was 1.5 hours, so we drank our lunch.

At the 4th winery, we got cool wine glasses (not so hot wine, but the Gurtz was delicious!).

At the 5th winery, wino Nallie picked up her 20 cases (just kidding). Clayfu liked the wine at Stuart Cellars. And Danncer bought a bottle.

We then staggered back to the Van, and eventually arrived at the Pechanga casino, where we gorged at the buffet (TimByrd watched everyone gorge on crab legs). Danncer grazed at the salad bar while we ate Crab).

We also feasted on Truffles courtesy of WD, as well as Monkey Prize, Mumms, TyTantium, and other vision enhancing wines.

A joy for all, and pics will be available once I photoshop out Nallie (or is it photoshop in?).

You all missed a wonderful event. Clayfu says: "Suckers!"
