Are you referring to this? I saw it the other day on facebook and my husband and I would love to go. Until a few months ago he was working with some indy game developers. We'd love to keep making stuff. Unfortunately, we can't just drive to Seattle for the day, we live a bit too far away.

Oh cool, thanks for the link. I need to get a job over there so I can move. Then I'd never have time to go to all the cool stuff, but oh well.

I did get my tickets for GeekGirlCon so I'll be able to get over for that!

Skipped it last year: their idea of retro gaming was mostly Nintendo 64 and sooner. I recall even seeing Xbox and a fighting games tournament on the list. If you're into that, cool, but don't expect to find table top, Colecovision, or Atari floating around so much. Went to the NW Pinball Festival instead, which was groovy -- like being in an old school arcade.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

No, you can't have our iPod, keys, or Lego. Sorry.

Yeah, I should be more visible this year - ended up being sick the second day and cutting my volunteer time short. I'll even be easier to find since I'm working with the special events crew these days.

But on topic, this Retro Gaming expo seems fun!

I'm always easy to find, I'm walking around with a deaf guy and three geeklings BTW, my husband wants to do the game design contest again, are they bringing that back?

I can see why Gatzby mentioned tabletop, but I don't think of tabletop as retro. Maybe it's just me. I mean sure it's the oldest RPG form, but when you say retro gaming I think 8-bit, classic arcade through super nintendo.

I would say everything in the nickel arcade, but if it still exists at the arcade where I worked in high school, I shudder to think which main aisle games are now poppin' nickels.

I wish some of that were closer. I'm in CO. My dream is to get to go to E3. As of yet though, I have no "ins."

At the very least, maybe a few of you here like Halo and we can start up an MLG team..even if we suck :D

I'm just far enough away from Seattle that it's a big trip for us to go as well. Also I have three young geeklings and no sitters so where we go they go, and that really ups the cost and limits the opportunities.

edit: No Halo here, no XBox here. Not really and FPS player, I prefer RPGs, but a bunch of us did get together at one time to play Wii games (we all got Animal Crossing and Mario Kart and swapped codes). Unfortunately, I don't really play online games, because the geeklings and life keep me so busy.

lol if you got to me a couple years ago i would have been all for it. got too busy to do that kind of stuff anymore being an adult is terrible. is halo even still popular? ive been out of the loop of video games for such a long time. the only one i keep up with is starcraft 2 -_-
