I'd also say that organic first cold pressed unfiltered extra virgin olive oil is much healthier than this oil.

Grapeseed oil is catching on fast since the health and cooking benefits are more and more discovered. The Extra Virgin Cold Pressed grapeseed oil made here in Napa is the finest in its class showing beautiful golden green color and has a great taste with reminiscent of the wine crush. It has fresh country butter flavors with a banana nose and gives food a light nutty finish. Best of all it make you feel good after a meal compare to most fast that glue you onto the chair.

Yes we all know olive oil is well known by now...but just to compare the two...GSO is almost half the saturated fat, almost 10xmore essential fatty acid, double the smoke point and yes you can crank up the heat with grapeseed oil to way over 400 degree before it starts smoking.

Never heard of it. Figured I would give it a whirl. I am in for 1.

I'm still on the fence on this oil, but like i mentioned before. I'm a vegetarian, and i've been wanting to incorporate some quality oils into my cooking, so i guess this will be part of my experiment. Hopefully i'll have some positive info to give next time an oil deal comes up again.

Nate650 wrote:Unfortunately Googling "is soybean oil healthy" brings up results that suggest it is based on outdated information. A highly refined industrial oil like soybean can't possibly be healthy, the point being Google sometimes doesn't give you the best info.

Another example is the case of coconut oil. Google still returns results that deem it unhealthy due to its saturated fat content.

Yes and of course the thousands of web sites supporting the good nutrition of grape seeds are wrong too!
Maybe coming from World reknown dietetitian Dr. Andrew Weil might convince you. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/ART00697

Oh, you'd love the cold pressed oil - we drizzle it over grains, rice dishes - all sorts of veggie dishes - the flavors combine beautifully! I even saute mushrooms and select items (since its EVCP and higher priced than our regular oil)-it brings out a wonderfully nutty taste - I hope you try it!
