“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

Don't carry-on these cork screws on your flight to Napa.

These are pretty sexy cork screws. Mine is sexier though.

I hope one day the woot Gods will have a beer.woot.com site for people like me who really just don't have a taste for wine, but love tasty craft ales

More trinkets

Shouldn't these types of items be on home.woot and wine.woot be reserved for, oh, wine?

I have no real use for one of these because their function is likely not any better than the two I already have, but they look good. Hopefully this sells out quick to end my urge. 18 days and counting since my last woot purchase!

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. The way the page refreshed, I'm surprised it wasn't posted 8 or 9 times...

What is sexier than double hinged??

I need one of these for my office, so I can occasionally open one of the bottles I'm too scared to have delivered to my house.

BTW, where is the stainless steel option that you can get the cheese knife with?

I love being able to choose my own trim. Always been partial to a red hue...

This is a monster deal. These things go for about $75 everywhere else on the interwebs. Best price I saw was $70 each here:

There's something very screwy about this deal.

What could be more sexy than double jointed, I mean hinged??

Quick googling finds these selling for around $70 on the few places that have them.

I love these types of corkscrews. They're convenient to carry around and work well. I've already lost three cheaper plastic (and not double hinged) ones to airport security though so I don't think I'll try my luck here.

I'm just hanging out, really.

I actually need a new corkscrew, and I too love a red-hued wood.

Mine's taking forever to process, too. Is this going to be the second thing today that I complete an order for, only for the order not to process? *sigh*

Edit: Nope! Processed!

Yes, I've been processing so long, I went away from the page, and tried to place the order again - I know my card had not been charged for the first attempt. If Woot people are watching, I want the ROSEWOOD wine key (just in case they sell out)

We were in Tijeras, NM a week ago... took the Turquoise Trail (14) from Santa Fe to Albuquerque.

On 14, a couple of miles north of Tijeras in Cedar Crest is the most awesome BBQ place... called Ribs.

Their plowshares and tractor tires (deep fried onions and jalapenos) are incredible.

They also brew beer and root beer... Oatmeal Stout is perfect... sweet, dark flavor, not bitter.

Really sharp lookin' tools! Super deal at $20 vs. $70! Got two - heck if I don't like 'em I'll give 'em away for Christmas!

Since I am the sommelier at family gatherings, this will give me some flash to go with the usually wine-geeky comments I make

And it's comin' from my neighbors in New Mexico! Thinkin' about New Mexico has me jonesin' for the chile! Guess it's going to be cheese enchiladas tonight for dinner

Regards,

Greg

Sorry, guys....even though it's not wine, it's still sent out by the regular vendors, so the estimated timeframe is still the standard 2-3 weeks. Just give it a little more time.
