So the 2010 La Tribu Grenache Blend is yet another GSM. They seem to be pretty popular on this site lately. (BTW-got my Tallulah GSM this week.)

No, no, no. It's a G-És-M blend! Eh? Eh?

I don't get it ... the grenache retails at $12 a bottle; the red blend at $8; the Barranc del Rei is listed at one NY store for about $14 ...

That's $132. This "deal" is $130.

Pass.

Might be true, but at $10+bit a bottle do you really want to spend the time shopping around? Should make for a decent weekday, after work glass, or two.

I tried looking around the sites of local stores and can't find anyone carrying this. The fact that this may not be very well distributed would make it a good deal for those not able to buy it retail.

90 pts Robert Parker for La Tribu at this price is unbelievably rare indeed! What a steal.

I've had some very drinkable Jumilla Monastrells. Forgot they were Grenache because the Spanish like to toastyoak their wines. Spanish wine done right is often good, rich, everyday drinking for cheap.

... and @trifecta ....

OK, that I get. Convenience. I do like purple drank from Spain, but there's good variety in these parts. If there weren't, maybe I'd be looking into this.

I just bought a dozen bottles of Talley's red for $5 a bottle, so I do love me some "refrigerator red."

+1

IMHO, a lot of Spanish wines I've come across deliver in the QPR department.

Blame your state gov't for that limit. 1 case is about all that is allowed, based on the size of production by wineries.

Not so much, given that Jay Miller (Parker's recently deposed critic for Spain, South America, Australia, and oddly, the Pacific Northwest) would give a glass of tepid bathwater 90 points. However, according to CT, the 2008 vintage of the La Tribu blend got 87 points from Josh Raynolds (with Tanzer's IWC), a respectable score for the price.

I love Spanish wine, Monastrell, GSM blends, case deals, and daily drinkers. Still, this is a bit of an investment for what doesn't appear to be a particularly stupendous deal. Not to mention I barely have room for all the wine I already have. Hmm...a shame I don't have more time to ponder.

TN has always been on the list for all other wines I've bought. Wondering if its winery dependent. Oh well!

It is. And international wines are even more restricted.

More importantly ... only 23 hours to pull the trigger on Sunday's offer. Speaking of Sunday's offer ... WD ... clue please?

A bit off topic, but I received my balsamic vinegar today and let me say....WOW. It is amazing. I couldn't believe how good it was. I literally put it in a bowl and ate/drank it that way. Sooooooo good.

I'm no WD but let's see how well you know your winery websites. Here's a screen cap from the upcoming winery's site:
