92-94 from Parker @ $11 from a region I'm big on right now = no brainer.

Wine searcher shows the price varying from $11 to $13, so this is obviously at the low end of a rather inexpensive wine.

I wish online sites listed importers along w/ other facts. One of the (major) advantages of a local shop is the ability to buy based on the back label.

Languedoc- Rousillion is a region that I have had some incredible highs, and some terrible lows. Knowing that Rosenthal, Dressner, Lynch, etc is the importer gives me a good idea of what's in the bottle. I find my tastes/philosophies line up a lot more with certain importers than w/ critics.

And that is the killer for WL for west coasters; shipping. Even some of the recent Cindy offers didn't include FS. Gotta love WW for the $5 ship if nothing else, well, perhaps a pickle. Not.

Will you post back after you've tried it? I've enjoyed some 2003 Domaine du Clos des Fées Côtes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes I bought on last bottle last spring, so would pick a few of these up if they're good.

I did just order A bottle of 2010 Les Vignerons d'Estézargues Côtes du Rhône Domaine des Fées from wl based on their recommendation, but haven't tried it yet.

As usual, Invino seems to have inflated the price savings. While Wine Searcher did not produce any American distributors, the price in South Africa runs $10/bottle, as opposed to Invino's projected $30/bottle. And of course their Insider rating is a 93. That's not to say this isn't a good wine at a reasonable price. Just saying...

up to a point. that will be true, but a $10 wine in South Africa is like a $30 wine in stores abroad. It's a long way to travel and South Africa is still a cheaper country.

Why do you ask? The wine wouldn't be corked because of InVino. Or are you asking about how they'll handle it?

Sorry Kyle I wasn't specific. I was curious how they would handle it. I sent them an email. It was only 1 of the 3 bottles. Just curious if any of my fellow wooters had an experience with them on this issue. It isn't a high value wine by any means, just a $25 German riesling.

1994 Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru on last bottle for $59. They claim retail is $150 and best web is $90.

Any thoughts? Supposedly this '94 is still tight and needs another decade or so.

A "good" wine retailer, like any respectable restaurant, will refund the bottle, so fingers crossed.

Don't know if this will be any help since they don't have the '94 vintage, but may be of some help.

I've bought a fair amount of wine from Invino and have received a few bad bottles. Invino has been very good about taking care of it (I believe they gave me a credit, which is fine by me).

Thanks, they wrote me 10 min ago and replaced the damaged bottle with insider credit. After receiving the email. I opened the bottle and took a picture of the cork which was SOAKED, molded and reeked of wet cardboard to forward back to them. They did not ask for that, I just supplied that for them. I poured a sample into a glass, smelled the wine and immediately poured the sample and the bottle down the drain. No tasting occurred.

I guess what I am getting at is.... Thank you to my fellow Wooters for letting me know what to expect and to Invino for handling it professionally.

It hurts to pour a German riesling down the drain, especially from the Nahe valley

WTSO has the Solvino 2007 Napa Cabernet for $19.99. Has anyone tried it?

Apparently it was grown in the Rutherford AVA, which I would think makes it a Rutherford cab.

I bought a case, as so far I haven't been disappointed by similar offerings of pedigreed Napa cabs from lesser known vineyards.

Never tried it, but the couple of reviews I found on it were very positive, and to be honest, it's tough to go wrong with a Rutherford Cab, let alone a Rutherford Cab from 2007, so a $68 2007 Rutherford Cab for $19 seems like a no brainer to me

I bought a 4 pack of this a week or so ago when it was offered. It hasn't arrived yet though, so I've got my fingers crossed that it's good.

I've been very happy with LastBottles offerings in the past, even their cheapies...err...less expensive offerings

I've been wanting to try some higher end Burgundy, and this just came up on LB:

1994 Pierre Gelin Chambertin Clos Grand Cru de Beze
$150 Retail
$ 90 Best Web
$ 59 Lastbottle

Chambertin Clos de Beze. Those are 4 words that get Burgundy lovers into a tizzy. Throw in a simply UNHEARD-OF price, over 60% OFF, and it’s off to the races. Now, this is a massive, structured and still-tight wine. Would definitely age another decade or more. If you drink it sooner than later, give it a good decanting (2 hours at least) to let it open up.

Free ground shipping on 3 or more bottles.

Any thoughts? Did I waste $180?

I hope not but I did see somewhere that Parker put that Burgundy vintage in the 70's range...fwiw

It's been up on LB for over 24 hrs now. I forget if it started on Sat or Sun, but I've been surprised that it has been there for so long. I probably would have pulled the trigger myself if they had free shipping on one bottle, but it's out of my price range, even for one, so 3 was unthinkable.

Let us know what you think when you get it, if you're going to open one.

Odd I just got the LB email this morning.

I went in for three...if anyone would like one...let me know

I will probably open one, and save one for a raining day. I don't think this is a big Parker style wine. I found some nice reviews on the 1990's Burgundy from this winery. I'll post a review on the bottle I open, it should be an interesting experience.

I actually didn't get the email about it until this afternoon. I notice I often don't get emails from LB, or it's one a day instead of each new offering. This trend started when they had their server crash during their last LB.off. I'd take one, but Cal is a long trip from NY.

For those of you who are fans of restrained, mineral-driven pinot noir, Invino is currently running the 2008 Kendric Vineyards Marin County for $26. I picked this up for a couple bucks cheaper a few months ago (BerskerDay special) and think it's a steal at this price. 13.9% alc., pH 3.41, TA 0.59.

CT reviews (including mine).

Excellent - thanks! I don't see a lot of his wines at my local shops, but will be on the lookout.
If we're building a list of importers (I was just focusing on those that bring in great stuff from Languedoc above), the following should definitely be on the list:
Terry Theise
Bowler
Polaner
Savio Soares

If you missed out on the $899 bottle of La Mission Haut-Brion on WTSO, they have what appears to be a very nice deal on 2003 Antonia Adelaide Ferreira Vintage Port for $24.99.

i saw our old friends at Donati (who often have murderous holiday case deals) are moving tasting room samplers for $35 (in CA) or $40 (out of CA) incl. shipping. 6 bottles are included in each sampler - 2010 Chardonnay, 2010 Pinot Blanc, 2008 Claret, 2008 Merlot, 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, & 2008 Cabernet Franc. this 6 pack is normally going to run $126 + shipping based on my nighttime math.

then i also noticed they have a late harvest cab franc which is notable since i have not seen previously anywhere. has anyone else? is that varietal worthy of late harvesting and a killer cigar?
