One of the reports posted at the beginning of the week:

Krave Jerky Review - Beef Garlic Chili Pepper & Beef Pineapple Orange Flavor.
I'm a simple girl. I was very excited when I received lab rat box. Then I discovered not only a bottle of Red Zeppelin Vinidiction but two packages of beef jerky. A golden ticket indeed!
I am sad to say that I did not enjoy the jerky as much as the wine. I was initially struck by a smell that I recognized from Taiwan. Unfortunately I cannot identify it (friends noted it but didn't recognize it at all). Hopefully a friend will be able to identify it tomorrow.
My second impression was that this was moister than most beef jerky (the pineapple more than the garlic chili). The pineapple orange was sweet, but I enjoyed the flavors. I loved the heat of the garlic chili pepper.
The packages have ziploc seals on them. I sealed both and headed out for lunch. After lunch I went to a friends for a woot jerky tasting. By then the garlic chili pepper was even moister and the pineapple orange was sticky and soggy. Both were sweeter in taste. I still enjoyed the garlic chili pepper. My friend didn't care for either.
The soggy Beef Pineapple Orange jerky is not terribly appealing. I still like the garlic chili pepper but I wish that it was a little more savory.
My initial impression was that I would definitely buy this jerky if it was tomorrow's woot. Hours later I am sorry to say that this is not the case. I would avoid the pineapple orange. I wouldn't mind the garlic chili pepper if I could get it by itself (it does have a kick to it).
WineDavid, thanks for sending wine & jerky to try. It was fun to have two opportunities to rat today.

"Artisinal"? From Sonomoa, CA?! CA has those "happy cows". How happy are they now?
Sorry boys, if it didn't come from a nondescript shack in a podunk town in Texas with a burning-house level of smoke pouring from the backyard it probably isn't worth chomping down on.

But thanks for giving us a reprieve on the wine. With the Holidays' onslaught what we need now, more than more wine, is a few offerings of GOOD WINE RACKS! e.g.: http://www.brookstone.com/Swedish-Wine-Racks.html
