I do get some dirty looks and have actually had chef's come out of the kitchen to tell me they won't cook it that way.

She's ok now, she was jaundiced and had to go back in to the hospital for 24 hours of UV treatment last week.

First at dinner. Husband had the sirloin, had to leave half of it on his plate because of gristle. I had teriyaki filet medallions. Same thing. I had to surreptitiously remove a couple of bites from my mouth because it was unchewable. Son's sirloin seemed to be okay and d-i-l's ribs were good. Didn't say anything so as not to embarrass son. Never again. If we go there next year, chicken.

Then the Oscars. Enjoyed them. I didn't see the red carpet part, but what I saw during the show, no ugly dresses. Didn't agree with all the winners, but what do I know.

Edit: Was it my imagination or did the winners of something announced my Angelina Jolie mock the way she was standing with the bare leg jutted out?

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Sorry your dinner was not good.

Orc is very very happy with the winners for best picture. I'm just glad the Help didn't win, both my friend and I were horribly disappointed in that film. (The acting was great, but there was no content to it.)

Mornin' Sunshines.

Outback is sub-par as steak places go. Sirloin is about the toughest cut of meat that is still served as steak, so not surprised at the chewy. Filet on the other hand is about the most tender and very lean. If you got gristle in yours, then it wasn't filet.

edit: godspeed joyner

I've been served and have prepared many very tender pieces of sirloin steak.

Me, too, though it is ranked at the bottom as far as tenderness. I just think it tastes better. I've had sirloin at Longhorn that wasn't the last bit tough. And what I fix isn't tough. And no gristle. I don't know where that came from.

Morning everyone.

And I've been served, and have prepared very tender pieces of bottom round, but that's not relevant to my point that of the steaks served as steaks in steak houses, sirloin is the toughest.

Now I'm sad, playing with Inspiral Carpets. Would be a good show.

Can we go visit your mum in May?

If you're looking for a baggy Manc band to see, I'm pretty sure the Stone Roses are back together for a while.

I thought all the concerts were sold out... I did know about them.

Hi everyone. I agree that Outback's steaks (I don't care what cut) that I have had the past few years are awful. They must be buying Choice.

Pof - yes, now that you mention it, I was wondering why that fellow was standing so funny, and then I realized he was spoofing Angelina. I thought she looked awful - way too thin, veins popping everywhere, and those tatoos the size of a newspaper article. I always thought she was stunning, but not last night. The reviews I have read today all think she was very glamorous - so much for my opinion.

Joyner - sending good thoughts and wishes to you.

I think Angelina was trying to distract people from the fact that Brad Pitt is sporting a mullet.
