schuey wrote:I believe the Ty Field Blend Red is now being sold under a new secondary label of Ty Caton named Racchus Red. Check it out at www.racchus.com
Is that a different blend though than the "original" field blend? I thought someone (HAK?) was saying it was good, but not as good as the field blend. Same wine?
Edit: answered above. It is different and i'm really bummed. I only have one bottle of the FB left.

No worries. I think we've confirmed that Field Blend as we once knew it is gone.
By the way, did the text change for you guys to? It looks smaller for me.

I questioned Ty very closely about the FB back in August when we met with him. Rumors of its death are not exaggerated at all.
It is well to remember that there are five reasons for drinking: the arrival of a friend; one's present or future thirst; the excellence of the wine; or any other reason.

Like this:
It can be yours for only $500 (or more).
These are the only "original" decanters I can think of and they are all in the high price range. Riedel stemware is very well received though.
There's these.

And good suggestions, at that!

I placed an order for 6 bottles of the poizin just yesterday and boom in my mailbox 5 minutes ago was a nice cold bottle with a red skull on the front.
LABRAT ENGAGE.
"Choose your poizin."
I have personally drank 9 bottles of this wine in the past two years -- yes i've kept count. Sure, sometimes I "share" with friends but in all honesty they really only get a taste. This stuff gets downed. It's scrumptious.
I look forward to this time of year when i get to casually walk around the streets of new york city carrying a dark bottle of wine with a blood red skull on it. It's menacing, and sure keeps the riffraff away.
This wine can be enjoyed with a bloody steak, or by itself (for the more tolerant).
I'm happy they still have the '07 in stock, it is probably even a bit better than the '07 I drank last year -- and this is a very good deal. Last year 6 bottles came out to ~$23/bottle. This time, 6 bottles comes out to $19.83/bottle (which is the year I was born in). holy scaffolding that's creepy.
so like i said above, choose your poizin -- this is mine.
tasting notes:
top is ascrewed holding back the hot long legs that wrap around your glass. the dark purple liquid stains your teeth. it's like a lumberjack's cologne on your tongue, longing to have a slab of meat sooth the grippy mouth-feel. the hard spicy wood finds its way into your head after it smashes up all the dark fruit that is letting loose on your shriveled palette.
this wine makes me sweat.
Good report. It's good to see a not-so-pro(per say- not saying yours isn't) review, and original at that.
I kinda wish I had your job- as you said earlier "My job requires that I wait until at least 4pm to start drinking at work."
~lol at that~

Good guess... sounds appropriate, and I'd almost bet you're right.
If not, any vampire wines around?

Anyone in Minnesota willing to split an order? I have a serious overflow situation here and already have two Iron Horse orders on the way, but I've never tasted the legendary Poizin and feel left out. :-(
I'd be happy to purchase a bottle, but three is just too much.

Here's what Ty said in an email to me last week: The blends are very similar, but slightly different. Also, the Racchus comes in a screw cap.
