I believe the woot-off on wine.woot is over. According to the front page, the next deal won't start until Friday. That is, if I'm reading it correctly.

Woot should take down the flashing lights if this thing is over.

Yes, that would be a worthy excuse. I was LI for a year due to intestinal damage and I considered suicide. I cannot live without cheese. Especially GOOD cheese like the current offering. I would love to see some Humboldt Fog, Truffle Tremor, and Purple Haze on here...

Howdy!

There is a restaurant in Milwaukee we have been wanting to try. We actually ate at the Green Bay location (a gastro pub/micro brew sort of place). They have a small plate now with the Fog and the Tremor. Is it wrong to want to go to a place just for that? Well actually, the Green Apple Tempura for dessert did catch my eye as well.

Little Vineyards Trio began the slow start to the slippery slope. it was alllllllllll downhill from there!

That's a strong devotion. I can't think of one food I'd consider suicide over, and I'm fat!

How did you search by order number to see the updated status? I also see nothing on the receipt page-is there somewhere else to peak for tracking info?

There's a (woot) order number on your receipt page and you can supposedly search by that on the FedEx search page.

When I just tried it though, it said "No information for the following shipments/FedEx Office orders has been received by our system yet."

Boo!

I got my cheese today and the ice packs and cheese were both warm to the touch. Is the cheese still good at that point? Cali to Florida is a tough trip for cheese.

Ditto. Goat cheese is supposed to remain cold at all times and I'm worried about it arriving this warm.

Warm package here too and I'm in California. Not happy about this at all! I've rec'd food packages in the mail from companies before and they usually will do 1 day shipping to ensure freshness. Going to notify someone...not sure who

In Louisiana and in the same situation.
And thinking it's a good thing it's been cooler the past couple of days and not as hot as usual.

Hi, Charles from Cypress Grove here.

Regarding concerns of safety . . . this cheese getting warm for a reasonable amount of is not a critical issue.

Civilization has been making and relying on cheese as a staple for over 2000 years, but the Flintstones excluded, we've only had refrigeration for about 100 years.

Recall the last time you were in a specialty grocery store. It's likely that they had various cheeses on display without refrigeration. I have personally taken fresh cheese on long trips before, re-refrigerated it and have never had a problem.

Unless you see something extreme like a ballooning of one of the packages or a rank smell, the cheese is absolutely fine to eat.

Enjoy it, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, Charles

indihar

Well!...

Came home tonight to unexpected surprise of two packages waiting for me...one at the front door, one at the back door...

Front door had the Chevre sampler. Didn't (and still haven't) gotten any notice about it shipping (LOL...although I just today thought...gee, I haven't heard anything about this, should checkup on it...) Fortunately, weather took a turn for the worse this afternoon...cloudy, blustery/gusting winds, colder temps. So everything was/is good.

[Oh...package at back door contained my Tardis USB hub]

HHmmm...life is ggooooodddd....

Received, warm as everyone elses. I went ahead and opened one of the plain Chevre's.

I haven't had goat cheese before, so this was a real treat. It was soft enough to spread, but also seemed to crumble when eaten. A bit tangy, but otherwise a completely new taste to my palate. I was expecting an unpleasant smell, but it's rather neutral.

Overall, delicious. Now I need to find something to do with it other than spread it on crackers.

On a side note, I wouldn't be too worried about the temperature, as long as you get it directly to the fridge once received.

abwdvm

Just got my warm goat cheese. Very spreadable. Just had some. It's as good as I hoped. We shall see if it keeps now that it's been 'warmed'.

a backporch I could rock on all night long

Cheese was warm and fine on arrival. Not salty like many supermarket goat cheeses.

(Overall signature size was getting large. Recommended signature size is 5k.)

huh, i see I'm not the only one. got mine warm too just outside DC.

didn't get home until 9pm, so the box had been sitting at the front desk all day, but cheese was warm. My infrared thermometer read 70-75F.

No blistering or anything, so it's probably fine. they went straight into the fridge.
