I dunno...I saw Lodi + big wines = good stuff as far as I'm concerned.

I've seen the Earthquake at one of our locals here but have never gotten it (did you used to have a different label for that one, more browny gold lettering?).

Man, gotta love Chicago's bootlegging past, we've never been off the ship to list.

If you are not logged into one of the woot sites you won't get in if you just pull up the url. Log in then try it. If you still aren't successful send a message to service.woot with your log in info.

Windmill and Earthquake are in standard Petite Sirah bottles but we put Petite Petit in a "fat" (Burgundy) bottle because it's a fat wine.

We did update the Earthquake label. It use to be one solid label (instead of the broken up 3 parts). We also changed to coloring so that it stands out more.

You may not like all three, but I am certain that 80% of wooters will *LOVE* (not just like) at least one of the three wines (IF YOU TREAT THEM PROPERLY -- I.E., DECANT THEM FOR 2 HOURS, preferably in a nice decanter)

If not, get in touch with me, come to nyc, and we'll swap bottle-for-bottle from my cellar. Cuz I'll take'em off your hands.

I like you PetiteSirah!

ATTENTION CORK DORKS!!

If anyone is interested in watching the bottling process, visit michaeldavidwinery.com Our homepage has a 3 minute video of Petite Petit being bottled. It's a cool process, that is until you have to work the bottling line and you kind of want to shoot yourself.

Hi Wooter Bloggers,

I wanted to share some info about the Michael David Winery labels:

Earthquake- started with our Earthquake Zin- the vineyard for that wine was planted in 1906. Ring any bells? That's the year of the big earthquake in San Francisco. Mike and Dave were walking the vineyard and decided that they needed to make wine called Earthquake. The wine needed to be really big and really bold. Cue cheesy marketing: "It will rock your world!!"

Petite Petit- there is a whole lot going on with this label so I wanted to list some of the references.

Grateful dead mice carrying cards of 767, which stands for our lineup of 7 deadly zins, 6 sense syrah, and 7 heavenly chardonnay

Crack in the ground on bottom left corner representing our earthquake line

Grapes of wrath book- by crack in ground

Bottle of Incognito Red on right hand side

Bottle of 7 deadly zins on left hand side

2 elephants represent Mike and Dave- big guys that keep getting bigger

Fleur de le “sailor” tattoo on elephants arm for our French roots

Clock reads 4:20 (upper left hand side of label) Please don't make me explain this one to you. If you don't know- ask your college aged neighbor.

Green room sign- where you go before you go onstage (elephants are on their way to a show) and sometimes referenced for where people “grow”

Witty banter on back (written by Kevin Phillips- Mike's son)

Pulp fiction reference- band aid on back of elephants neck.

We have fun with wine and want you to as well!! We are serious about the juice but want to have a good time with rest. Enjoy!

I received 7 Deadly Zins as a gift last Christmas. I wasn't expecting much with the gimicky name and all, but was very pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted - and this was before the nice score they got for this year's release. I now believe that this winemaker knows what he's doing.

Now if only I didn't have a double magnum (3.0L) of 2004 Earthquake PS sitting in my wine cellar ..... oh who am I kidding?

Clue?

I opened a Boss Monster tonight. I like it a lot. Not my favorite Woot Cellars -- Triacipidis holds that spot -- but very serviceable and nice backbone.

Wineconsumer/Maker here...

I was not fast enough to set up a woot account and get one of these 3 packs as I am a bit busy with harvest...but a gal that works for us bought one yesterday for us to try! These guys make fun tasty wines, with irreverent labels. Look forward to my first woot delivery!

Nothing for me yet and I'm in So Cal. I usually get my orders very quickly. I got a tracking # on the 3rd and nothing else since then.

Ok, so we've had some data issues (our end not MD's end) that has resulted in a a portion of the offers to be delayed. the remainder will get out no later than Tuesday of next week. Our apologies.

Received in MO. Windmill was the first victim. Interesting nose of earthy red fruit with a nagging hint of day old ashtray, however it was only in the nose. First time I have encountered that particular aroma in a wine. Nice, fruit foward (blackberry, over-ripe cherry) with reigned-in tannins, maybe some cocoa and a little heat in the finish. I think it is a 5-8 year wine. I would pair with pulled smoked pork with a nice charred bark and a little extra spice in the sauce!

Eastcoastmary

Hope to receive this soon. I'm in VA and would like to get before the big feast day

Mine is finally showing up as "In transit" with a delivery date of 11/19. Problem is no one will be there to sign from 11/19 through 12/2 (thought for sure it would have been here before the 19th). I'm pretty sure UPS will return to sender if no one is there to sign within 2 or 3 delivery attempts. Anyone know what to do in this situation?
