Just reopened the bottle of Carignane that I hid on Cinco de Mayo with one glass left in it. That's eight days. Still deep fresh Carignane cherry, real acid instead of VA!

We had the Chrome and the Viognier at the same party (Joe's birthday, tales I can't tell here) - and a couple of vineyard Kistler Chards - your whites were consumed first.

That sounds good! interesting that there is no "vinegar" on the nose… Sounds like Amy has a handle on "where" to put in the acidity ;-)

I like screwcaps. If I thought I could get away with it, I'd screw everything. I mean, um, screwcap. There is still always the issue of perceived value, however, and it's hard for a new brand to launch with a nontraditional closure.

ROTFLMAO… That was rather refreshing…

I know several people who consider a screw cap wine to be "decent' but not high brow. the expectation seems to be that a screw top wine can be decent/good, but not necessarily long term cellar worthy.
Of course the question begs to be answered on how will the wine age with a screw top vs a cork, given that air volume can be kept the same, however what is the air permeability between the two materials along with longevity ?

In any case, in for a matched set… would be same to get one set and find out how good they are etc….

Good night from the "right" coast ! *wink*

Hmmm ... it's between this and a case of our favorite table red from Edna Valley ... what to do, what to do ... no, seriously: $5 a bottle for the red, or spring for this ... damn ...

Everyone should have such problems.

Me too! LOL

You won't be disappointed.

OK, been lurking all day, hope you're still around Amy. Gonna go in for one, I'd like to make it two but I'm a bit challenged just now and would like to sample, however...

Can you give us an idea if you'll be in any upcoming woot-off? If you think you may be, I can load up then!

Great support, makes all the difference.

She's at dinner with a barrel guy, whatever that means. I think woot-offs are supposed to be secret, or something. Every time I mention one, Mortimer hits me over the head with a Zeppelin. Or maybe it's a banana.

Funny what happens when people start drinking on both coasts. Lots of fun comments. I'm so glad someone posted that screwcap study. I was going to have to go and look for it myself...

Yep, I very rarely have to check a wine in to the VA hospital. I'm all about natural acidity, and the stems of the carignan help to keep it bright.

Those Kistlers must have been corked.

I'm in.

Amy - Wish you all the best with your endeavors. I am looking forward to trying your wines. If they are as good as your winemaking buddies claim, they will quickly be out of my price range, even on woot ;-)

Regards,

Greg

....there MIGHT be some left at the winery after this sale. Maybe. In any case, there will be other vintages. Glad you finally took the bait!

...first rule of woot-offs is, you do not talk about woot-offs. Second rule of woot-offs, is you do not talk about woot-offs.

Thanks again Amy. Those that pushed the button are in for a treat...

Got in just before the cutoff. Can't wait to try these wines, and the post by WD about how he pays attention to the heat even prior to summer shipping made me willing to risk it.

Thanks for your participation!

p.s. Please ship quickly and cautiously woot

Thanks for the quick shipping Woot! This came today... I'm almost motivated to go run to the UPS store to grab it.
