I guess so; that was awfully short. I was hoping for some balsamic vinegar. =(

janieingram

Could someone please buy all of this so we can move on to the next offer?

If any other NYers want one of the sets (or any of the individual bottles) I would be willing to part with one. With already having over 500 bottles, I don't exactly need more. Just clicked so fast, I couldn't stop myself.

See your PMs.

Banyuls, baby!

Oh, and Collioure, too, but mostly Banyuls, baby!

what happened? I know I have ordered before and had it delivered here to CT....why are we off the list? Who do I have to talk to!

first wine woot ever! I'm tired of running to the groceries and picking up wines last minute ending with mediocre results.

You can't go BACK a deal!

I have had all three of these on multiple occasions. The Windmill Cab is really good, according to the winery it is a restaraunt brand only and I can't remember seeing it in any stores. The Petit Petit is one of my favorite wines period.

From the reviews, they are fairly mediocre. Not sure if I can tell you haw the deals are found and posted, but more or less you have to find them. Pretty novel idea for a woot based site.

That was IT on the Wine Woot??? I feel cheated!

Score: 86 (very good)
Release Price: $28
Issue: Web Only - 2008
Spicy, smoky, cedary, aromatic, toasty oak nuances dominate, with ripe plum notes, firm tannins and good intensity. Drink now. 9,000 cases made. –MW

Petite Petit Lodi 2007
Score: 86 (very good)
Release Price: $18
Issue: Nov 15, 2009
Extremely spicy aromatics, clove, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon. Mingled with the smooth and tasty juicy cherry and berry flavors, this takes on a more cedary edge. An interesting and fun interpretation. Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. Drink now. 18,000 cases made. –MW

WineForThePeople
Parker scored both the 2006 Windmill Petite Sirah and the 2007 Petite Petit at 88 points!

jwink wrote:Are we left to assume the 2007 "Petite Petit" is 100% Petite Sirah considering there is no varital breakdown in the stats?

To the winemaker why do you like adding a little of Bordeaux varitals to the other belends?

Petite Petit is 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot. A few years back we thought about putting these two varietals together. It's different, but it works. We like adding a little Petite Sirah to a lot of our wines because it gives it a nice front pallet kick and adds a good touch of color.

Well, the permit for a winery to ship to CT costs $2000!! And since we have a distributor and the wine is sold locally- it seems quite extreme.

Happily drink now or within the next 5-10 years!! (FYI my brother, Michael's oldest kid, writes the poems on the back of the bottles. Take the first letter of each line (an acrostic) and it spells out something too!!)

Also...
2007 Petite Petit was given 88 points from Robert Parker in his August newsletter.

"This winery continues to show a very strong hand with Petite Sirah, and their 2007 Petite Petit (which includes 15% Petit Verdot) has a dark ruby/purple color, and a round, generous personality. With silky tannins, lots of blackberry and earthy fruit, as well as hints of graphite and incense, it is a beauty, and obviously very civilized and accessible for Petite Sirah."

I thought I'd missed you!
I've been begging for Michael & David for quite some time, so I'm all-in.
Thank you for getting together and offering wines from my first and all-time favorite winery!
88 points is a very low-ball score IMHO.

What's the cost for the shiny new KS permits? I couldn't make heads or tails of the site (liquor laws read like Greek to me). I'd be in except for that minor hiccup. State line's only about four miles from here but it's hard to get the UPS guy to meet me on a street corner

You must be confused, trying to steal our title. The bottled water deposit takes effect in NY this weekend.

I can certainly see that you know your wine. Most of the guests who stay here wouldn't know the difference between Bordeaux and Claret. - Basil Fawlty

And that's why scores are silly. Just read the notes. Based on the critics' descriptions, I'd probably find these kind of candied or jellied, maybe too oaky as well. So about an 80 for me if I'm feeling generous.

The Petite Petit is one of the best I've had. It is surely more than decent for the cost.

I really like my storage method! It's in the shape of a stomach and I carry it everywhere I go. although, long term storage is a slight problem...

I suspect I will enjoy it without additional questions as I have purchased 2 orders but WW, you may want to consider rattage for each of your new offers rather than Monday only. That may bring compeling, thoughtful questions for the participating wineries...

IF YOU LIKE BIG WINES AND PASS ON THIS YOU ARE A FRAKKING MORON. Serioulsy, buy this damn wine. I stake my awesomeness on your loving at least one of these three wines. You may not like all three, but I am certain that 80% of wooters will *LOVE* (not just like) at least one of the three wines (IF YOU TREAT THEM PROPERLY -- I.E., DECANT THEM FOR 2 HOURS, preferably in a nice decanter)

If not, get in touch with me, come to nyc, and we'll swap bottle-for-bottle from my cellar. Cuz I'll take'em off your hands.

Momentary hijack:

Your order for 1 Vinturi Red Wine Aerator on 10/17/2009 has been recently shipped via SMARTPOST.

wine.woot, why hast thou forsaken me?

Woot.com smartposts have brought nothing but anguish to me, none ever arriving on predicted dates and some not ever arriving.

Probably the most economical way to ship for woot, but I'm not sure I would have ordered -- had I noticed they were using SMARTPOST because of consistent past grief. I would be happy to pay more for shipping future non-wine items to keep them out of the evil grasp of SMARTPOST.
