Hey Wooters please let me know if you have any questions.

I've got a question. The write-up says your winery was founded in 2010, but your wine is a 2009 Cab. Are you time travelers?

Um ... wait.

So, this is like, $17 and change - including shipping - for an 89-90 rated cabsav that retails for $35 a bottle?

See, this is the kind of deal that makes a strong man weak, that makes a man of conviction fold up like origami and spend more money on wine.

Mill bought this first last time too. Must be a good wine if he is in 1st again

SueSeaweed loved it last time too

My family has been in the wine business in Washington since the mid 1990's. We have been planning to spin out on our own since 2007.

Bring back the Lab Rat

lll0228

quality posts: 31 Private Messages lll0228

I am not a Lab Rat, but I have had this in Ellensberg in their tasting room!

I think the verdict is simple: Get it.

We had the 2008 as well, which was also big on fruits with a phenomenal nose. This is a rich, flavor galore. I particularly loved the after taste and the lingering aroma in the mouth.

This is another prime example from the Walla Wall Valley that gives Napa a run for the money (and better than many at twice the price, too).

I have paired it with tomato sauce-based pasta, lamb rack, Indian food, Thai food, curry...just about anything worked with it. And beside the taste, the people at the tasting room were nice, and genuinely good people. We willingly handed over the money and brought home a case of different things (at twice this price). I still have two bottles of the Wolves, two of the Merlot and one last bottle of the Malbec. All great value for money.

So once again:

Get it.

So i bought the 2-pack last time and just opened one up to see if i want to go for the 6-pack. The CT notes are spot on; very fruity on the nose; balanced, tannins are nice; an all around good drink with a smooth finish. (had it open for about 30 minutes before tasting).

Hope this helps anyone that is on the fence.

Anyone from Upstate NY, CT, or Mass want to do a split on this. I've been bad lately and can't resist all of these great deals. I don't need six...would prefer to hold two or three.

If interested, send an e-mail to my woot name @hotmail.com

Mill, could you give us an assessment of this since you must have liked it the first time and bought it again?

Was interested in this the last time but wine enthusiast review not too inspiring....

"This young Cabernet feels thin and earthy, with little to offer in the way of fruit. Aged in American oak, roughly one third new, it is tart and unyielding. P.G. (12/15/2011) — 84"

Can we hear from other recent wooters that loved this?

I can still be convinced..

Is it broke or just fractured?

mill has a medical condition that makes it difficult for him to type (in the forums). He had a post explaining it (and his propensity for being first sucker) a year or so ago. I'll try to dig it up later today.

Looked for his post and found it:

“Corrado, I would like to reply to you and other wine wooters who have inquired about me over the years. Never before have I posted and the main reason is I had polio as a child which permanently damaged my fingers making it extremely difficult for me to type. What would take you one minute, would take me two hours. While I have my own company, I do not believe in having my employees do anything of a personal nature. Fortunately, I have a good friend who is with me now and is able to relay my message to you all. There are so many woot wines that have been outstanding, and some that have been mediocre. I love the community, but I believe price is not the most important factor as woot has enabled me to try wines I would have never heard of or thought of getting on my own. Because I have to be up early to get to my company, logging in at opening time (1am) enables me to get to bed at a semi-decent hour. Sometimes I am first, but that is not so important; I only care about getting a good bottle of wine. I could go on, but I can only say what an absolute pleasure it has been over the past years to read all of your messages and comments. Some of you are truly experts on wine. It pains me that I cannot participate. -Mill”

I'm really on the fence about this. I've wanted it the last few times it came up, and I surprisingly have very few Cabs, especially given that it is the most frequently offered varietal here. I'm just not sure that I need 6 of them at this price. Dave or John, would either of you be interested in any of this?

This stuff is great. Period. I bought the 2 pack and then bought the 6 pack when it came up during the woof-off.

I haven't found a Walla Walla cab at this price before.

I am really tempted to get more.

Bill,
Do you have the pH and TA for this wine? I thought you had posted it with one of the previous offers, but I can't find it. THANKS!

auto buy in for another, just received my last 6 pack I bought, last week, this and Rockus Bockus are auto buys.

Seems to be around $20 a bottle on another site or two. Wine Enthusiast has it at 84. I don't think I will bite at a 6 bottle clip with that rating. There is plenty of 90 rated Napa Cabs at Costco in the $20 range.

I'm interested but definitely don't need 6 bottles (of anything) now. If anyone in L.A. is interested in splitting (or even taking 4 and leaving me 2) send me a message.

I logged into my Woot! account to simply say this:

Why doesn't Woot! ever sell Merlot? Cabernet is great for some, but a good blend or a Merlot would be awesome. All I ever see on here is Syrah, Chardonnay, and Cabernet.

That's all.

Could you explain why?? I really would like to buy but don't want to end up with 6 bottles of average wine. I can get that for $10 at Costco.

Flavors maybe, bouquet similar styles of wine.... I'm begging to be convinced but WE review not too good.

I just placed my order, so I'm in one way or the other. My question is how does this compare to your 2008 cab which is described as "fruit forward"? I don't care whate WE rated this, I'll make up my own mind, but I do care what the winemaker has to say. Thanks in advance.

Also, I gotta say it's pretty impressive to have been raised by wolves who have been in the wine business for decades. Those are some awesome wolves!

The 08 wine fruit was sourced from our vineyard in Royal City, which is known for being extremely fruit forward and soft on the pallete. As for the 09 it expresses fruit typical of Walla Walla. Earthy and bold a nice balance of tannins and acid.

Tasting note from Lot 18

"Tasting Note
This dark ruby wine quickly tempts the nose with aromas of dark cherry and blackberry fruit, and a strong note of licorice. Crisp, clean black-cherry flavors dominate, followed by gorgeous layers of herbs, spice and minerals. The structure is bold, juicy and fruit-forward, with smooth tannins and a clean finish. Drinking beautifully now, this wine will pair well with full-flavored dishes, fun friends and animated conversation. Drink this now or let it evolve for another three years.
—Ted Farthing"

BTW the price at lot 18 Nov. 2011 was $20 per shipped.
