Every time I hear "Walla Walla" I can't help but think of that noise PacMan makes while he's eating dots...

This is some high falutin' juice!

Two of my favorites! And this price is better than the wine club price (of which I'm a member). In for 2.

Thanks WD! Great offer.

reviews are pretty good, but it's more than I want to spend for these wines.

Same feeling here. Fair pricing, but I like under $30 if not $20. Definite no go when Iron Horse came in at $20.

Wow..going to be hard to resist...this was one of "the one that got away"...missed the last offering and have been kicking myself since.
But I really don't have the $$ to go in for 2- and I can't just get one....decisions...

I was torn between the Genie Universal Laser Parking System for the Garage and this wine. Minor nicks and scratches give a garage character. Therefore, I chose the wine.

It would just about take Corison to open my wallet right now....

as a PS to my earlier post, I nearly didn't pull the trigger on this one. I wasn't logged in and it wouldn't connect to the log in server, then when it finally did, there were more problems with the system not updating properly until finally everything came together. WOOT seriously needs to do something to address these problems during WOOT offs.

Probably not. I thought kosher wine, at least at the highest "level" (pardon my ignorance), required boiling of the juice. It's impossible to make fine wine with cooked grapes.

I've heard of a Napa winery making high-level kosher Cabernet, but there must be some compromises involved. Like not boiling the juice, allowing handling by non-Jewish workers, working on the Sabbath & so on. Perhaps a "Kosher-Lite" exists?

Ugh, there better not be any Brandini on the way, either.

Pass the caramel juice back 'round.

I am of that mindset as well.

I had my last 2000 corison about 2 months ago, and it was still absolutely mind-blowing.

I regard the Corisons in my cellar as longer term drinkers - I'm giving them all at least 3-6 more years. I had a 2000 not that long ago, and it was wonderful, but still could use more time, IMHO. The really old ones I picked up on the Tour will not see the light of day before they're 20.

I missed the "Vinturi Red Wine Aerator" last time and wouldn't mind seeing that again in the wootoff.

Not too difficult to resist. Was upset that I didn't buy last time around. Was just in a wine shop last evening that had the cab at 59.99 (Ohio). With that this really is a smoking dael because the Merlot wasn't too far behind.

So I guess the standard reply should be:

"No, but it does work on a Mac."

It is not necessary that the wine be handled exclusively by Jewish workers to be kosher. All that is required is that the ingredients are kosher and not contaminated and that wine is handled according to the laws of kashrut. Of course it is necessary that the wine be certified kosher to actually be kosher and this involves actual participation in the process by the supervising rabbi.

As far as boiling is concerned, what you say is probably a fair statement but it should be understood that it is not a requirement that the wine be boiled to be kosher.

To the best of my knowledge, I believe I am correct in my statements here.

There are quite a few high quality kosher wines out there. Unfortunately, I don't know what names they are. I am trying to expand my horizons in the world of wine as I recently have developed a liking for it.

The boiling of the wine is what is know as "Mevushal", literally 'cooked' in Hebrew. I am not sure when the cooking takes place, before the juice is aged or after.

There is a concern about non-cooked wine being handled by non-Jews for certain religious Jews, I am not one of them.

As far as I know there is no "Kosher-Lite."

Macs are Kosher. So are PCs. Mixing them makes them not kosher.

Wasn't this just offered but at $79.99????
I bought it at that price. This is a very good deal.

If this doesn't sell out by midnight, do we still get a new Wednesday woot? Or are we all punished for not taking a good deal when offered?

Cannot get excited about expensive merlot.

I have 5 bottles of Corison in the cellar, with little yellow stickers on them reminding me when to open them (more accurately, telling me to resist temptation and hold off until the year written on them). I think the earliest is 2012. I have some non-Corison bottles with 2020+ stickers on them. And, of course, the stickers are just guidelines.

The Pepper Bridge is tempting, but I really must work my inventory down a bit. If anyone wants to stop by, please feel free. We'll quaff a bottle or two...

This reminds me of an old roommate I had.

Me: Wanna get some McDonalds?
Roomie: No thanks, I'm vegetarian.
Me: Oh Ok. How about Mortons then?
Roomie: I'm driving. (as he rushes out the door)

It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with diet.
