PoiZin is back !

OK,what's the ideal drinking window for this? To what extent might it be infanticide to drink some now? (Though zins are often good early drinkers they may not be at their best).

How does the 2007 vintage compare with recent vintages?

P.S. WD, available for lab rat duty.

Steve & Bruce Cousins? What?

How can cousins be married?

I think I had seen this at Chip & Py's in Mequon, WI. I forgot what the name of the place is now. Same owners, new name. I'l stop in and try a glass.

Never wooting again. I've learned my lesson about inferior customer service.

2007 is hailed as an all around phenomenal year, especially in the Sonoma area...

That said, $20 a pop is a bit steep for a three-pack of wine I have never tried since I'm supposed to be on a SIWBM.

Well, Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966)! That doesn't help me much does it?

I remember a lot of people commenting that the 2006 had a lot of alcohol heat. Winery: is this one more toned down or should we sit on them for a while to allow for integration?

Only 200 cases a year. Etched and hand painted. Love the bottle. They sell for $25 each on the official site, good deal. I'm tempted.

4? Haven't we only had 3 Poizin year offers? 2005, 2006, and now 2007?

And does Gatzby's girlfriend know he's available on sellout?

Legal to get married in several states (including California), and once married, legal to live in any state (because of 1960's equal rights legislation mandating that a legal marriage in one state must be recognized by all states).

Besides, Einstein's parents were cousins....

How does this compare to the last PoiZin offering? A 2006 vintage.

I'm glad this is back. I bought it the previous two times it was offered and really enjoyed it. Still have one bottle left from the last offering. And first sucker! As if I need more reasons to celebrate...

Kyle, I'm sure if you go in on the Poizin and don't like it, someone in Cali will buy the other bottles from you. If not, you have a couple of bottles to use as gifts. But I don't think that will be the case.

Little Vineyards Trio began the slow start to the slippery slope. it was alllllllllll downhill from there!

Bought a case of the '05 and am down to 3 bottles so naturally I think I'll have to jump on this one. Would love to hear what the winery and rats have to say.

I bought these from the offering 2 years ago. I gave a couple away as gifts to Halloween parties I attended, and kept one for myself. It's not the finest thing I've ever sipped, but it went over well with everyone I shared it with. A solid (and festive) red.

How much Petite Sirah is blended with the Zin? When are they blended? (co-fermented? Pre-barrel? Post barrel?) Speaking of barrels, what was the barrel regimen for the Poizin?

7 Crappies (nice table radio, knife set, DOA Zune, 2 monkeys, rest scaffolding).
18 other impulse buys (counting sellout.woot) that I mostly gifted out.
26 shirts (17 random) mostly for the kids.
And 102 bottles of wine (+ 2 rats).
I am better than all but 220,085 of you.

Serious question:
On the product description it says "If you're drunk when the package shows up, you will not be allowed to receive it".

Is this actually true? Is there some regulation that you can't deliver wine to drunk people?

I spend too much money here.

If you mean sweet as in sugary, definitely not. It's a dry red wine that is probably best when accompanying meats, pizza or pasta in red sauce, or spicy chicken dishes.

From a tasting note:

"Huge nose of jammy red fruit and vanilla. Very tasty, but very one dimensional. Very good at what it does, which is blow your face off with red fruit and vanilla whipped cream, but this is also what keeps it from being anything more than another Cali fruitbomb Zin."

Apparently yes, you can't be drunk to accept the package of wine. If I'm drunk when it gets here, do they at least try to redeliver the next day? Or do they have an office party at the USPS?

Are these your tasting notes Speedoo? If yes, about which vintage?

No, just copied the CT notes from Corrado's post above. It's for the 2007.

I think you need to register with CT to be able to view it. Having said that, it's free and pretty good at what it's supposed to do (which reminds me that I should update mine).
