I Want One!

Uncork to open

Friends don’t let friends waste wine all over their ships.

Ah, two bottles of NV White Flowers Brut Sparkling Riesling and two bottles of NV White Flowers Sweet Sparkling Riesling. Nice choice! But, there is one thing. Before I let you buy those, I just gotta make sure you understand: these wines are for drinking. Not boat-christening.

Maybe it seems like a weird thing to say, but we’ve had a lot of people coming in looking for sparkling wine recently, and when we ask them what exactly they prefer, they say, “Something that smashes nicely on a hull.”

And that’s totally fair, considering that recent study that outlined the christened vs. non-christened sink rates. But we just want to make sure that you know this is drinking wine. The Brut’s lip-smacking flavors of spiced Granny Smith apple, lemon, and dried apricot are meant to melt in your mouth, not on your boat. And the same goes for the Sweet’s floral, yeasty notes.

If you’re looking for some boat-christening wine, we keep a cases of cheap stuff in the back. It’s all bubble and no business, so it looks nice and flashing when it cracks open, and you don’t have to waste this good stuff out on the dock. Understand? Good.

NV White Flowers Brut Sparkling Riesling

  • Alcohol: 11.5%
Surprisingly juicy and full-bodied. Lip-smacking flavors of spiced Granny Smith apple, lemon, and dried apricot will restore hope in anyone disappointed by one too many encounters with a wimpy sparkling wine. Presenting beautiful floral aromatics and a clean finish, this dry sparkling wine is aged sur lie for a balanced and textured profile. White Flowers is a refreshing change from other sparkling wines.

NV White Flowers Sweet Sparkling Riesling

  • Alcohol: 12%

The “White Flowers” Sparkling Riesling is floral, yeasty, low alcohol (11.5%) and sweetish. Riesling is a fantastic grape for Sparkling wine production, it has high acid and it is quite fragrant early in the ripening season.  It is a great Riesling single vineyard sparkler to drink as an aperitif for fun.

Pacific Rim Winemakers

Founded:
2006
Winemaker and General Manager:
Nicolas Quillé
Location:
West Richland, WA
First released by Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon Vineyard in 1992, Pacific Rim Dry Riesling quickly gained a loyal following among Riesling lovers. Known for its fresh and bright characteristics, the wine was a welcome alternative to over-oaked, one-dimensional white wines. As the American palate evolved in recent years toward wines with greater complexity and crisper acidity, the popularity of Pacific Rim Dry Riesling grew.

Demand and enthusiasm for Pacific Rim Dry Riesling continued to gain momentum — and the excitement around the wine inspired a radical idea... the creation a winery exclusively dedicated to Riesling. In August of 2006, a small band of Bonny Doon expats moved to the Northwest from California with a common desire to craft the best Riesling in America... thus, Pacific Rim became its own winery.

At Pacific Rim, we are passionate about Riesling (in fact, nearly 90% of Pacific Rim's production is comprised of Riesling wines); we are passionate about crafting world-class Riesling; and we are passionate about extolling the wondrous virtues of Riesling. Explore our website and — if you haven't already had the pleasure — try our wines. If you're not presently a Riesling zealot, we're certain that you, too, will soon discover the marvels of our favorite variety...Riesling.
